We are wanting to share an exciting and momentous announcement regarding our beloved company, a name that has been synonymous with excellence in transportation for nearly a century.

As many of you may know, Crowthers Coaches has been a family-owned business for almost 100 years.

Today, I am thrilled to share with you a significant milestone in our company's journey. After much reflection and careful consideration, we have decided to rebrand our company to better reflect our values, our vision, and our commitment to our customers. Henceforth, we shall be known as "Alura Coaches."

Crowthers are pleased to welcome a Swedish supermodel to the family, with the addition of our beautiful Volvo B12 to the fleet.

This wonderful machine is built to full 5 star specification, fitted with 50 reclining fully seatbelted seats, TV/DVD, and of course is restroom equipped, making for the most comfortable of journeys.

Be sure to keep an eye out on the road for the Volvo as it heads into service, or better still give us a call on (02) 9540 0900 to take her out for the day!

An exciting day for all of us at Crowthers Coaches and Unearth Ed , as we opened our South Coast Offices. Despite a tough few years during the COVID pandemic, our business has continued to grow and prosper . We are incredibly proud of , and thankful for our wonderful Staff . Thankyou to Susie Scobie at Ray White Kiama for her help in sourcing this fantastic office , conveniently located in the heart of gorgeous Kiama .

As Crowthers Coaches powers towards its 100th year as Australia's premier coach operator, it's time for the next stage in our growth, and that growth involves YOU!

We are looking for a driver to become a part of our family here in Sydney, a family that stretches back three generations, and prides itself on the quality of its people, the quality of its vehicles and most importantly the quality of service it provides to thousands of wonderful guests every year.

Our drivers are the face of our business - the best in the business - and are as much a part of our business as the Crowther family themselves.

If you currently hold a NSW Heavy Rigid licence and a current NSW Driver's Authority, you're halfway there, however more importantly, you must be immaculately presented, willing to give your all to a day's work, be able to share your smile with EVERY person that sets foot on our coaches and look after your guests and your coach as if they too were family.

You will be operating an immaculate fleet of Mercedes-Benz coaches, and will have the opportunity to travel on both local charter work, and away work on educational travel, seniors tours, corporate charter, and rail replacement charter.

Crowthers staff getaway to Bathurst finds some unique places

Each year the team from Crowthers and Unearth-Ed go on a staff getaway where we review the year just gone and plan for the year ahead, but at the same time experience some great places to visit.
This year it was Bathurst where we saw some amazing properties and iconic tourist destinations.
One of the highlights was dinner at Abercrombie House, built in the 1870's by the Stewart family who were Bathurst pioneers.
We highly recommend Abercrombie House and a trip to Bathurst, so get a group together and call us on 02 9540 0900 and we will put an exciting tour together for your group.

Great roll up at Crowthers APH High Tea Launch

A unique tour to Canberra that includes a High Tea and a behind the scenes look at Australian Parliament House was a big hit at the launch at Miranda RSL last week.

The tour is 3 days and 2 nights and is the first time APH has partnered with a coach company for such an experience.

The trip also includes visits to some of Canberra's most iconic attractions and can be tailored to the special interest of your group, for example a game of golf at Royal Canberra.

Here at Crowthers, our drivers are a multi-talented bunch! These stunning shots were taken on a recent tour by our driver Dave, who clearly has an artistic eye for more than just touring! Dave is not only an incredibly accomplished photographer, he's also a hugely talented videographer, a web designer, and believe it or not, a highly accomplished drummer! Thanks Dave, accelerator pedal OR kickpedal, he can do it all!

Crowthers celebrate surviving 2020.

The team from Crowthers coaches at their annual strategic getaway created a survivor dress up theme, to celebrate surviving 2020.

Every year, the team from Crowthers visits a destination away from the office to hold its strategic planning day, to review the previous 12 months and plan future initiatives.

Due to Covid, 2020 wasn’t a great year for business, but we felt just getting through the height of the Pandemic was something to celebrate.

Top prize went to Crowthers Operations Manager, Chris Niblock, who dressed as one of history’s greatest survivors, a cockroach!

2021 is shaping up well with plenty of customers booking group tours to all types of destinations around NSW.

Ann signs off at Crowthers

One of Crowthers coaches most popular coach drivers Ann Lange, has decided to retire from the coach industry and spend more time with family and friends.

Ann was not only popular with her customers, she was also a valued member of the Crowthers team.

I'm sure everyone joins us in congratulating Ann on a stellar career at Crowthers and in the coach industry.

The team at Crowthers coaches would like to extend their thoughts to everyone in these difficult times and urge people to take care and stay safe by following all the precautions outlined by the medical experts.

Whilst the travel ban on schools has affected our school business in term 1, we continue to play an important role with our corporate & private client's transportation requirements.

All vehicles as standard are equipped with hand sanitiser, disinfectant air freshener, disinfectant surface cleaner, disinfectant wipes, garbage bags and disposable gloves, ALL OF WHICH ARE AVAILABLE FOR YOUR USE AT ANY TIME

Whilst service and cleanliness have been at the forefront of our business for the last 94 years, we have made a significant investment in introducing a new cleaning regime to our drivers to ensure the safe transport of your guests. Our coaches are cleaned and sanitised EVERY night, our drivers will now be wiping down all contact surfaces and sanitising the air a minimum of four (4) times per day OR after EVERY group alights our coaches. If your group are on and off the coach six times in a day, the coach will be cleaned six times.

Furthermore, any driver who feels they are at risk will be screened and facilitated by Crowthers Coaches to ensure again they are able to maintain the highest level of attention to this issue.

Crowthers Driver Clayton Carlyle, wins BusNSW Coach Driver of the year award

Crowthers coaches continues to be a leader in the coach and bus Industry with its latest accolade being the crowning of long-term employee Clayton Carlyle as the best coach driver in NSW as determined by BusNSW, the head body for the Industry.
Mr Paul Crowther Managing Director of Crowthers Coaches paid tribute to Clayton saying: “He epitomises the values that Crowthers stands for, which puts the customer experience at the core of everything we do.
Claytons customer service is second to none and he receives constant positive feedback for his efforts” he added.
Clayton joined Crowthers in 2009, having come from hotel management and looking for a complete change of career. Operations manager Chris Niblock said “Clayton quickly established himself as an immensely competent driver and guide, and worked extensively on Crowthers day-tour programme, as well as driving for Crowthers sister company Unearth-Ed on its renowned education tours to Canberra.
Mr Niblock added: “After 10 years in his role, his skill level continues to grow, he has also worked extensively in the Northern Territory, and is currently one of only two people operating 26-day Sydney - Cairns - Sydney turnarounds as a driver, guide and tour director on his own.”
Clayton said he was “humbled” to receive such a prestigious award and paid tribute to MD Paul Crowther and Operations Manager Chris Niblock as great mentors: “I’ve learnt a great deal from Paul and Chris over the years and I’m very proud to work for Crowthers coaches.”
To be eligible for the coach of the year award candidates must:
- Exhibit a positive and cooperative attitude towards their job;
- Assist passengers and other staff members;
- Have a high standard of personal presentation;
- Always greet passengers in a polite and friendly manner;
- Always drive safely, and be courteous to other drivers on the road.

Trailblazer Ann Lange celebrates 20 years in the transport industry.

Coach driver & 68-year old mother of 3, Ann Lange, who this year celebrates 20 years in the transport industry, has always since she can remember had a love for vehicles of any type, but in particular the mechanical side has always been a passion of hers, which had its inception after watching her mechanic dad John, repairing cars while she watched on intently as a young child.
This shared passion with her father for the mechanical side over the years saw them working on numerous projects together with their favourite past time being stripping cars and reconstructing them in the backyard of their family home.
This love for cars also saw her become the first woman to join the Land Rovers club in NSW.
Ann started her career in the corporate world as a computer systems operator, then in 1999 decided she needed a change and went into the transport industry having stints with Government run buses, airport shuttles and corporate organisations like Crowthers.
Working in an industry where there is a 30/70 ratio of women to men, Ann is of the strong opinion (said with a wry smile) “that women make better coach & bus drivers than men because they have more patience and are more empathetic than their male counterparts,” so she is a big advocate for encouraging more women to become coach & bus drivers.
Managing Director of Crowthers Coaches Mr Paul Crowther said: “Ann is a very engaging personality, loves a chat, has some great stories to tell from her time in the industry, we’ve actually had a couple of clients follow Ann to Crowthers because they love her so much.”
As a coach and bus driver over a 20-year period Ann says she got to see the best in people and on occasions the worst, so her transport career has brought with it many life lessons, no better one than “never judge a book by its cover.” She said.
Well done Ann on your career to date, Crowthers coaches is extremely proud of your achievements!
