Meet Dean, our new audiologist!

Dean is a fully accredited clinical audiologist with over 10 years experience in various settings including hospitals and aged care facilities.

Dean is passionate about helping clients of all ages preserve and improve their ability to process and understand sounds. His special interests include tinnitus assessment, communication strategies and paediatric audiology.

Dean is accredited to perform hearing assessments for aviation related purposes and is available for hearing checks every Tuesday at ICON Eyewear.

Congratulations to our optometrist Alex Qiu for winning the 2024 Outstanding Youth Award!

Alex started working for ICON Eyewear 5 years ago as an optical assistant before graduating in 2023 and joining our team of experienced optometrists as a qualified clinician.

M is for Macula Monday

Did you know that macula diseases come in all types and can affect people of all ages. The most common type of macula disease is called Age Related Macula Degeneration (AMD), which mostly affects people over 50. However, there are types of macula conditions such as Best Disease, Stargardt's Disease amongst others that also affect children and young adults.

It is important to have a comprehensive eye exam regularly and to have your macula checked by the optometrist.
