The Unexpected Happens – And It’s Expensive
Over the decades, I’ve witnessed everything from hospitalisations and accidents to kidnappings, bribes, and death threats. One person was caught in a natural disaster, another had a life-altering motor scooter accident, and there have been others who passed away while traveling. In some of these instances, families were forced to sell homes or raise funds to cover medical bills and emergency evacuations.
Travel is a beautiful thing, but it’s unpredictable. No matter how careful or prepared you think you are, the unexpected can strike at any time, and the cost of dealing with these emergencies can be astronomical.
Travel Insurance: A Non-Negotiable Investment
You wouldn’t leave your house without locking the door, so why would you leave for an international trip without travel insurance? It’s one of those things that seems easy to dismiss—especially when you’re focused on booking flights and choosing accommodations—but it should be as non-negotiable as your plane ticket.
Here’s the thing: when you're budgeting for your holiday, it’s easy to focus only on the visible expenses like hotels, tours, and meals. But don’t forget the hidden yet essential costs—like travel insurance. When you’re calculating your total spend, factor in the cost of coverage as part of the overall picture. Think of it as a necessary part of the equation—like budgeting for your meals or phone costs. It’s an inclusive, holistic approach to travel expenses that can save you from a lifetime of stress, financial ruin, or worse.
So please 🙏🙏reach out if you want travel insurance or check your credit card policies and compare a few companies.

Australians continue to roll the dice on travel insurance with 20% of travellers taking off overseas without cover as premiums soared in the last year.
