On Monday, Macquarie ASA teamed up with KPMG for an inspiring “Day in The Life at KPMG” event, and it was a fantastic experience for all involved! The day was packed with engaging activities designed to give participants a deep dive into life at KPMG and the opportunities it offers.

Our dynamic event featured:
🌟 A warm welcome and introduction from the KPMG team for a full day of exploration and learning.
🌟 Interactive rotating stations where attendees had the chance to learn about KPMG’s audit service line roles.
🌟 Interview tips, tricks and insights from industry professionals about pitching yourself as a better candidate.

Position Purpose
To provide administrative support to the Commercial Team within the Australian Liquor Marketers business unit. The ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional adaptability, a penchant for thinking outside the box, and a collaborative spirit when solving problems. This is a 3-4 month part-time opportunity with a high possibility of extension to 12 months.
 
The position offers around 30 hours of work per week, with flexibility to adjust hours to comply with Visa terms for international students. Metcash offers a flexible work arrangement, with two days in the office (Tuesday and Wednesday, prorated for part-timers), and the remaining days can be worked from home. However, please note this arrangement may be subject to change.

Our event highlights included:

🚀 A warm greeting from our student leaders, Olivia Vernicos (ASA President) and Yilmaz Ersoy (AFS President)

🚀 A captivating panel discussion led by Cameron McCay, showcasing Macquarie’s guest speakers: Manvina Manmohan Singh, Esther Su, Micheal Richardson and Angus Hughes.

🚀 The panelists provided an exclusive look into their roles, provided insights into the Macquarie Group application process and shared valuable tips on securing internship and graduate positions.

🚀 The evening concluded with a lively networking session, giving students the opportunity to interact personally with the Macquarie team and discover potential career opportunities.

On Tuesday, ASA hosted its annual Careers Fair, and once again it was a huge success! The night was filled with excitement as we welcomed a diverse range of firms and industry professionals to connect with our talented members.

Our wonderful event consisted of:

🚀 A warm welcome from our team and introductions from each of the firms including Grant Thornton, BDO, KPMG, PwC, Smith Hancock, Macquarie Group, PKF, SW Accountants and Advisors, CA ANZ and KordaMentha.

🚀 Opportunities for our students to meet each of the representatives, network and engage in one-on-one conversations.

🚀 Chances to explore various career paths and gain insight into future prospects.

🚀 Hearing about representative experiences and expertise, offering their guidance regarding the industry (along with having some delicious treats from one of our guest firms!).
