AURORA AUSTRALIS & THE THREE SISTERS - another single shot at 4:10am this morning capturing the end of the display that lasted from 3:30am. This is a long 30 second exposure which does blur the Aurora a bit (yes you could see lines within it moving quite considerably with the naked eye) but most importantly I am able to boost the foreground, to give the event some context. Still more to come, but spotted this one in my collection ...

For example tonight and tomorrow morning on the east coast of Australia (if no clouds) you might see a decent G3 event at the following times looking south BUT there is a bright moon setting towards the SW too grrr ... after these times wait for another big solar event ...
7pm - 10pm - 7.33 (G3)

look out for Koalas

You might be noticing more native animals killed on the side our roads. It’s breeding time so many animals are on the move.

That’s why it’s good to see Transport for NSW put up seasonal signs like this one on Bells Line of Roads at Kurrajong Heights, an important reminder to all of us to keep a closer eye out for animals - including koalas - crossing roads, especially morning and evening.

And if you do see an injured or dead animal, or hit one, please check whether they have a live baby or call Wires on 1300 094 737

update from Sydney Airport

The NSW Government has announced that Sydney’s T1 International Terminal will be the first in NSW to feature Uber’s PIN technology, offering passengers a faster, more seamless travel experience.

From 24 September, a new dedicated Uber pick-up zone, just 20 metres from the terminal doors, will use PIN technology to reduce wait times, ease congestion, and enhance pedestrian safety.
