Global Motorcycle Touring Network (GMTN) Launched to Unite and Elevate the Motorcycle Touring Industry
The global motorcycle touring industry is entering a new era of collaboration and excellence with the launch of the Global Motorcycle Touring Network (GMTN). Founded by travel industry veterans and motorcycle enthusiasts David Reeves and Walter Nand, the owners of Ride The World Motorcycle Tours, GMTN is set to bring together the world’s top independent motorcycle touring operators under one trusted network.
With a commitment to professionalism, safety, and ethical business practices, GMTN aims to create a global alliance where tour operators work together to uphold industry standards, support each other, and provide motorcyclists with unforgettable experiences on two wheels. The network ensures that only legally operating, fully insured, and highly reputable companies are part of the membership, giving riders peace of mind when booking their next adventure.
Walter Nand has been elected as the official GMTN Coordinator, overseeing the network’s growth and facilitating collaboration among members. Along with Ride The World Motorcycle Tours and Ride The World Australia, the network’s initial membership includes Freedom Biker Tours (Canada), D Tours (UK and Northern Europe), iRideArusha (Tanzania) and Satoshi Rides (Japan) with more trusted operators expected to join in the coming months.
“The launch of GMTN marks a significant milestone in the motorcycle touring industry,” said Walter Nand. “By bringing together operators who share a passion for adventure, safety, and exceptional service, we are creating a trusted network that benefits both tour providers and riders alike.”
What GMTN Offers:
• A Trusted Seal of Approval: Riders can confidently book tours knowing that GMTN members operate legally, hold proper insurance, and adhere to high standards.
• Industry Collaboration: Members work together, sharing best practices and supporting each other rath

It's Saturday and that is when we look back at trips, not tours.
This one was heading southbound on the Sea Cliff Bridge north of Wollongong. This time, it's a video.
The audio has been edited to cut out the travel companion's chatter.

The last day of staying off program.
Today, we look back at last Tuesday, our fifth and final day on tour.
It's time to head home from Orange.
Yet another enjoyable breakfast, this time at Factory Expresso. We returned to the hotel and packed the vehicles and departed taking the backroad through Rock Forest.
After Bathurst, we went to O'Connell and then stopped at Tarana, where we met a group of riders for a bike chat.
Onto Lithgow and the Bells Line of Road to Bilpin for our last meal together.
The last leg to Richmond and Windsor and then home.
We hope you enjoyed us sharing this ride with you, and we look forward to you riding with us in the future.

Another week of staying off program.
Today, we look back at last Monday, our fifth day on tour.
It's time to start heading home via Orange.
We headed back there as we enjoyed yesterday's great breakfast at Gusto Cafe on Peel Street Tamworth.
The day mainly was riding, and the 100 kph riding was taking its toll on the Himalayan's fuel consumption
.A stop just north of Coolah to check out the black stump and stretch the legs. Being old blokes, there was, of course, another reason.
The next stop was Dunedoo for pies and drinks. A bit of silo art, bird statues and Neptune the planet. We returned to the road after filling up with the Himalayan on reserve.
We took a backroad to Wellington and discovered wind farms and acres of solar panels. The next town was Stuart Town, originally called Ironbark and made famous by the Australian Poet Banjo Patterson.
Arriving next into Orange with the Himalayan well into reserve.
That night a wonder meal and a good night's sleep.

Another week of staying off program.
Today, we look back at last Sunday, our fourth day on tour. Perfect riding weather. So after a great breakfast at Gusto Cafe in Peel Street Tamworth, two of us head first to the Powerhouse Motorcycle Museum to see less than a hundred of one man's motorcycle collection, which they change every so often with those in storage. Then off to Werris Creek to the Railway Memorial and Museum. It was closed, being Sunday, but we fluked it with some of the museum committee being on site and we were able to have a fantastic guided tour. We then rode to Bob's Shed in Quirindi and were met by the son, Garry. I am intrigued by how someone can have a wife who lets him keep all his treasure in one shed.
We returned to Tamworth for photos at the Golden Guitar and Oxley Lookout.
We went out for dinner at the Bollywood Tadka. An excellent choice. #destinationnsw #ridetheworld #ridetheworldmotorcycletours #motorcyclelife #motorcyclelifestyle #tamworthnsw #werriscreek #quirindi #goldenguitar
Another week of staying off program.
Today, we look back at last Saturday, our third day on tour. The weather had improved, with no rain, but the cold had moved in. Who'd have thought it was Spring? A breakfast at Maccas as we had to be on the road and at Ural Australia by a set time. Breakfast done, we headed for Uralla and arrived early even with the Himalayan only travelling at 100 kph on the flat and downhill.
A good look at the two-wheel drive Ural outfit and an excellent chat.
We then headed a little north to Michael's Cafe for morning tea.
On our return to Tamworth, we went via Dobson's Distillery in Kentucky for a bit of tasting, only a little tasting as we were riding. After purchasing a bottle each, we headed for the reason for our trip to Tamworth: the Bar-B-Que Festival and Thunder Roll. What a disappointment, $45.00 entry and little to show for it. We had a late lunch of a Lamb roll and then returned to the motel.

Another week of staying off program.
Today, we look back at last Friday, our second day of our six-day NSW intrastate ride.
After trying to dry off ourselves and gear, we went to the local pub for dinner.
Today's ride took us up the Oxley Highway and through some roadworks as they are upgrading the road. We didn't stop at Asply Falls as we wanted to get to Tamworth. We did stop at the Royal Cafe at Walcha. The food, as always, was great, and the fire in the
fireplace warmed us up for the next stage of the ride. West to the New England HIghay and at Bendemeer, then South to Tamworth.
We check in to our motel and then off to the motorcycle shop to buy replacement wet weather gloves.
Back to our room for delivered pizzas.
