St George Leagues Club Photographic Society(Club) is a great place to make new friends, share your interest in photography, have fun and explore Sydney!
We are one of the largest amateur photographic clubs in NSW with a diverse group of amateurs through to professionals. Some members have been with the Society since its inception in 1963. Amongst our members are award winners at national and international levels and some are accredited judges of camera club competitions. Overall our group shares a passion for photography and has a willingness to help others learn.

It is with deep sadness that we inform you of the passing of our beloved life member, Joy Klein yesterday. Joy was an integral part of our community, and her contributions, warmth, and dedication over the many years will always be remembered. Our history indicates Joy started competing at our club in 1968.

As you are all aware, we have the Klein award as a remembrance of the dedication Frank and Joy Klein had on our Photographic Society which I was very honoured to receive from Joy Klein this year.

A lot of you will remember Joy with her big smile at our Annual Awards Night which we were honoured and blessed to have had her at our 2024 Awards Night and our 60years celebration. She was always so kind and gentle and always happy with a smile.

We will be sharing further details regarding memorial services as soon as they become available. (if you would like details email [email protected])

Rest in Peace Joy, you will be dearly missed. 🕊

If your new here, our awards night is a great way to meet our members and see what we are about. All awarded images will be on a slideshow from throughout the year which then go into our Annual Awards night comp. Our judges this year are John Swainston and Craig Parker.

Members and guest welcome to walk around Hurstville on Thursday 31st Oct instead of at the club.

We will be searching and photographing items from the George's River Photo Walk list which will be available on the day.

PRESENTATION: Document by John Swainston

Wow!! What a night!
An amazing inspiring and much needed presentation on the importance of documenting our world. From people to buildings, places and land. It is so important to document the stages or years in between. When you look back at your sequence photos it tells a story!
Thank you souch to John Swainston for presenting to us tonight even thou he got off a flight at 5.09am this morning! We appreciate it!!

It was a great privilege to also have Jenny Templin who is the official photographer when the Dalai Lama comes to Aus. She is a well known photographer and teacher!

Thank you to Peter Sherlock who evaluated this month's images! Our set subject was Australiana and Open.
It was great hearing feedback about our images and learning different ways of shooting or composing in camera.
