VANUATU UPDATE - Wednesday 18 December 2024

Hi everyone,

We are monitoring the situation in Vanuatu and working closely with local authorities to understand the impact of the recent earthquake near Port Vila.

Our current two Christmas cruises on Pacific Encounter and Pacific Adventure, were due to call at Port Vila on Saturday 21 December (Pacific Encounter), and Sunday 22 December (Pacific Adventure), and instead the ships will spend these days at sea. Guests have been updated onboard.

For other upcoming Pacific Island itineraries, including the New Years cruises on Pacific Adventure and Pacific Encounter, we will provide an update to guests once we better understand the situation in Port Vila.

During this difficult time, the people of Vanuatu, and especially Port Vila, continue to be in our thoughts. We are also thinking of our Ni-Van team mates onboard and providing them with extra care and assistance during this difficult time.

P&O Cruises will contribute to support the disaster relief efforts, and we are actively working with local authorities and the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade to understand the most effective forms of contribution and to fast track this as much as possible.

Donations raised through our Pacific Partnership Fund collections onboard during our current cruises will go directly to the disaster relief efforts in Vanuatu.
