ECHOES OF EMPIRE: TEACHER PL STUDY TOUR TO ROME AND NAPLES
January 2026

Libertas Travel is delighted to announce bookings are now open for our teacher PL study tour to Rome and Naples in January 2026.

The theme of the tour focuses on the rise and fall of fascism in Italy. We will visit Mussolini commissioned public structures, as well as the ancient ones that inspired them. There will be visits to archaeological digs initiated in the 1930s intended to link the fascist regime to the golden era of Ancient Rome. We will also visit interesting yet lesser touristed historical sites in both Rome and Naples.

The itinerary is tailored for those who have already explored Italy's iconic landmarks and are now seeking a deeper, more nuanced experience.

This 10-day program is offered during the New Year break and is perfect to be added to your own leisure travels during the European winter (which can have tax deduction benefits!).

We have been receiving some questions about current visa requirements for Europe.

The UK has just implemented the Electronic Travel Authority (ETA) required by Australian passport holders. If you are travelling to the UK, you will need to apply and pay for this online prior to departure.

Australians are still able to travel to mainland Europe visa-free... for now. The European Union will bring in their own version, ETIAS, some time in late 2025 (if current estimates are correct).

We will always provide our tour participants with the current visa requirements and information on how to obtain them.
