Malaysia's international borders will open to foreign travellers on 01 April, 2022.
* Quarantine-free travel will be possible for Vaccinated Travellers only. Unvaccinated travellers need to undergo 5 days mandatory quarantine at the port of entry.
* You must undergo a COVID test upon entry to Malaysia.
* You will be required to install the MySejahtera app on your phone to be able to "check-in" to premises.
* Facemasks are still mandatory upon entering premises
* Those entering Sabah, only need to show their COVID-19 vaccination and risk status on the MySejahtera application.
Travel to Sarawak is somewhat more complex - Depending on where you are coming from and the nature of your visit, whether you are Malaysian, Foreign or Non-Sarawakian, Sarawak may still impose a Home Surveillance Order.
One exception for non-Malaysian visitors, is if you have been travelling within Malaysia for at least 8 days, you are exempted from undergoing a quarantine when entering Sarawak.
If you spend a couple of days in KL and Peninsula Malaysia, then travel to Sabah for 5 or 6 days prior to heading to Sarawak, you should be exempt from quarantine.
The Brunei international borders are still closed to foreign travellers, as are the Indonesian (Kalimantan) borders.
As of 01 April, you will only be able to visit Sabah and Sarawak in Borneo.
