The Australian Government has assigned 5,000 skilled visa nominations to Victoria:
• 3,000 nominations for the Skilled Nominated visa (Subclass 190)
• 2,000 nominations for the Skilled Work Regional visa (Subclass 491)
For the 2023-24 year:
• Victoria secured 2,700 slots for Subclass 190 and 600 slots for Subclass 491.

Note: The Business Innovation and Investment Program (Subclass 188) will be permanently discontinued in July 2024.

Starting 1 July 2024, holders of certain visas, including Visitor and Temporary Graduate visas, will no longer be able to apply for Student visas while in Australia.

Student visa applicants with a genuine intention to pursue studies in Australia will still be able to apply for a Student visa from offshore (outside of Australia).

The Department of Home Affairs is updating the Temporary Graduate 485 visa. From June 24, 2024 we will stop accepting Temporary Graduate 485 visa skills assessment applications under the current requirements.

If you lodge an application before this date, it will be assessed under the current requirements. From July 1, 2024 we will reopen applications that will be assessed under the requirements of the new Post-Vocational Education Work Visa (Subclass 485). The TSMIT will increase from $70,000 to $73,150 on July 1st, 2024. Either the yearly market compensation rate or the new TSMIT, whichever is higher, must be met by new nomination applications.
