Masterchef Australia’s Hong Kong Week starts this Sunday!

With the support of Hong Kong Tourism Board, the MasterChef Australia team receives a dazzling welcome to Hong Kong against the iconic night skyline, setting the scene for an unforgettable culinary experience to follow.

From Sunday 23 June to Tuesday 25 June, the MasterChef Australia judges and contestants will get a taste of one of the world’s culinary capitals, traversing Discover Hong Kong’s diverse food landscape across three exhilarating destination episodes. Hong Kong served as the perfect setting, offering everything from world-renowned street eats, to an incredible constellation of 79 Michelin starred restaurants 🧑‍🍳🍜

The week commences with a quintessentially Hong Kong mystery box, packed with classic Cantonese flavours and ingredients, and cooked against the breathtaking backdrop of Victoria Harbour at Art Park, West Kowloon Cultural District.

Last week, Kyushu Tourism Organisation with Japan Airlines hosted a joint famil showcasing the magic of Kyushu Island to a wonderful group of Product Managers and Travel Agencies ⛩️

Perfect weather followed the group as they visited Fukuoka, Beppu, Takachiho and Kumamoto, getting all experiences from bustling city to mystifying nature, Kyushu offers it all!

As we approach World Ocean Day 2024, it’s the perfect time to highlight Washington State as a world-class destination for sustainable marine resource management and the promotion of responsible travelling 🌊

State of Washington Tourism offers a Responsible Travel Handbook and emphasises the Leave No Trace Principles, ensuring visitors enjoy the natural beauty without impacting the ecosystems. One of Washington's most unforgetable experiences is seeing the endangered Southern Resident orcas up close. These creatures primarily inhabit the coastal waters of the Salish Sea, including the San Juan Islands.

Woah time flies! We can't believe that it has already been a week since our Visit Colorado family visited! We kicked off our adventure with an incredible Snow Travel Expo in Melbourne, where we engaged with Australian ski and snow enthusiasts about the fantastic winter holiday opportunities that Colorado has to offer. It was amazing to see the excitement and interest from so many passionate snow lovers ⛷️

Following Melbourne, we hosted several media events across the Gold Coast and in Sydney. These events provided us with wonderful opportunities to connect with journalists, bloggers, and influencers, sharing with them the unique experiences and breathtaking landscapes that make Colorado a premier destination for travel. The enthusiasm and positive feedback we received were truly heartwarming.

We wrapped up our week with another successful Snow Travel Expo in Sydney. The turnout was fantastic, and it was great to see so many people eager to learn more about planning their perfect winter getaway to Colorado 🎿❄️

Last Wednesday, the Hong Kong Tourism Board were delighted to host esteemed travel, food and lifestyle media and culinary experts with an exclusive evening at the iconic Cantonese restaurant, Flower Drum in Melbourne 🍜

Fresh from a recent visit to Discover Hong Kong, renowned food critic and television personality, Melissa Leong was on hand to share her top tips on how to tackle the dining destination one dish at a time!

The evening was a vibrant celebration of Hong Kong's rich culinary heritage, featuring an exquisite menu that showcased the city's signature dishes, meticulously crafted by legendary Executive Chef, Anthony Lui - showing us exactly why Hong Kong is the ultimate foodie destination 🙌

Last month, we were fortunate enough to secure, co-ordinate and host 18 agents, and 1 Qantas Representative on one of the largest famils New Zealand has seen post-pandemic.

Our own Michael Cassis led the charge as we took 18 top selling agents from across New Zealand on an unforgettable adventure across New York State! Beginning with a stay at the epic, retro themed TWA Hotel at JFK, the group then ventured off on 3 smaller-group adventures to take in 6 of the States diverse regions:

Group 1 ventured off to the West of the State where they took in the roaring waters of Niagara Falls, to the roaring laughter of the National Comedy Center in Jamestown.

Group 2 "wined" their way through the stunning Finger Lakes region sampling more than a few tipples between visits to unforgetting destinations including The Corning Museum of Glass and Watkins Glen International.

Group 3 stayed close to New York City and explored New Yorkers Backyards including the white sandy beaches of Long Island and the history, culinary wonders and peacefulness of the Hudson Valley. Then it was time for 2 unforgettable nights in New York City, complete with a Broadway Show...for 20!

It was an epic week, with most agents agreeing that they now, well and truly, LOVE New York State🗽

Visit Seattle had the pleasure of hosting travel and food writer IG for their 25th edition of Taste Washington, America’s largest single-region wine and food festival.

“Right on the waterfront, dozens of amazing chefs and winemakers have gathered to share samples with the public. I’ve always associated Seattle with seafood chowder and the crew from Pike Place Chowder - Seattle did not disappoint me. The creamy chowder with chunks of potato and seafood is so soothing and satisfying. I could eat it every day. And the wine!

Did you know that Washington state is home to over 1000 wineries? I’ve tried a lot of wine in the past few days for research, of course”.

We are in a New York State of Mind right now! What an awesome ASTW lunch event sponsored by New York State Division of Tourism held at The Butler in Potts Point Sydney. ASTW Secretary, Caroline Gladstone, opened the event by welcoming special guests Ross Levi, Executive Director of New York State Division of Tourism, and Dawn Hopper, Managing Director of Tourism Market Development for Dutchess Tourism NY. Ross and Dawn shared some wonderful stories and insights about the greater State of New York and both being such talented speakers, they kept the crowd highly engaged with their history, culture and animated storytelling. Caroline then handed the stage to Kylee Kay, Managing Director of Linkd Tourism, who was MC for the event and treated the crowd to lots of laughs throughout the afternoon. Special thanks goes to the ASTW Secretary Caroline Gladstone and her team, Linkd Tourism PR Director Trina Shepherd and team, and our wonderful partner New York State Division of Tourism.

Linkd Tourism's team is representing strong! One of the busiest times of year for us, we were representing many of our fantastic partners at Visit USA and Brand USA B2B networking events.

Fantastic numbers and interest with the Visit USA across Auckland, Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney. Presentations, Guest Panels, and the ever-popular exhibition booths and more popular prizes gave all our partners fantastic exposure for future travellers to the area!

🐉🎉 The Year of the Dragon has kicked off with a bang. We joined Hong Kong Tourism Board last week at a vibrant cocktail function for travel industry and media partners.
The great news is that preliminary figures reveal that January 2024 marked the best January for visitation from Australia to Hong Kong since 2019.
Linkd Tourism are thrilled to be part of the journey to recovery for the Hong Kong and look forward to working with them and their PR team throughout 2024. Here's to a year filled with growth and innovation!

Last week Linkd Tourism had the honor of organising and hosting the last of 5 roadshow events of 2023-2024 for the Japan National Tourism Organization Visit Japan AU. Offering a twist to the regular exhibition roadshow events, participants joined in 5-speed dating appointments for Sydney and Perth last week, followed by free networking time to learn about all the other suppliers.

The interest was amazing. Japan is certainly a hot destination and it was fantastic to see the agents eagerly learn from 30 suppliers in both cities.

Well done to Millie Browne & Lawson Dibb for driving the events home, and thank you Charlie Trevena for assisting with the Perth roadshow, it was an amazing turnout with 100 Perth agents attending, impressive numbers for any Perth event!

Lastly, a huge thank you to the JNTO team for allowing us to facilitate the roadshow events, and we look forward to working closely in the future!
