Using the free shuttles and local buses, navigating the transport system was incredibly easy.
A great day spent exploring the sights of Capilano Suspension Bridge, home of Capilano Honey and the views from Grouse Mountain.
Despite the reduced visibility from the fires around BC it was still a great day.

Banffโ€™s European charm, chalet-style buildings, rich cultural influence, outdoor adventures, and breathtaking scenery transported me straight to the Bavarian Alps or Austrian Tirol.

We spent two incredible nights at The Fairmont Banff Springs, "Castle in the Rockiesโ€. Stunning views, elegant accommodation, and exquisite dining in a magical, fairytale setting. ๐Ÿฐ

The Banff Gondola takes you 2281 metres to the summit of Sulphur Mountain, offering panoramic views of the Canadian Rockies, the Bow Valley, and Banff. Despite the reduced visibility from the wildfires in Jasper, it was still a fantastic morning. It was great running into our new friends we made on board the Rocky Mountaineer ๐Ÿš

Day 2
On day two of the "First Passage to the West" our journey today continues from Kamloops, winding our way eastbound with stunning lake views.

As the train ascends, before you know it, youโ€™re surrounded by mountains that stretch as far as the sky.

Highlights of the day include the breathtaking sights of the Spiral Tunnels, the historic Craigellachie site where the last spike of the Canadian Pacific Railway was driven, and the awe-inspiring Kicking Horse Pass.

As we traveled through the breathtaking Canadian Rockies, we enjoyed another day filled with new friends, fun, laughter, gourmet meals, snacks, drinks (including alcohol), and impeccable onboard service.

We arrived in Banff late in the evening, after travelling 497 kilometers from Kamloops. I can't wait to explore the majestic mountains and postcard-perfect scenery.

Day 1
Our journey began with an early morning transfer to the Rocky Mountaineer Station.
The atmosphere at Rocky Mountaineer station was fabulous. We were shown to our assigned Gold Leaf Carriage and seating for the next two days.

Gold Leaf Service, offers indulging gourmet meals prepared by Executive Chefs, and expansive views through the panoramic windows of a bi-level glass dome coach to the Canadian Rockies. Seats are spacious, comfortable and are on the upper level. Meals are enjoyed in the lower-level dining area.

We were welcomed onboard,
starting the day taking in the views of the transformation from Fraser Valley's greenery to BC's desert, before being served a beautiful breakfast.

Highlights include the rushing waters of Hell's Gate in the Fraser Canyon and the steep slopes and rock sheds along the Thompson River. Our day ended in the evening as the train travelled 460kms into the shores of Kamloops Lake and into the town of Kamloops.
We overnight at the Coast Hotel, Kamloops.

We started our day with a visit to Stanley Park. Stanley Park is recognized as one of the greatest scenic walks in the world. We hired bicycles and road along 10km of seawall with stunning views of the city skyline and mountains. A much deserved stop for a cold beverage at Cardero's Restaurant.

We head to Granville Island Public Market for a vibrant culinary experience. We sample local delicacies and browsed through artisanal crafts. Here, you can have lunch at one of the many eateries on Granville Island. Options range from seafood to international cuisine.

We couldnโ€™t resist the famous Lobster Roll followed by the freshest, warmest donuts from Leeโ€™s Donuts.

We caught the False Creek Ferry to Vancouver Aquatic Centre then made our way back to Fairmont Vancouver Downtown.

We end our day with drinks and dinner in the trendy, upscale neighbourhood, Yaletown. Yaletown was originally an industrial area filled with warehouses and rail yards. It has been transformed into a vibrant district known for its chic boutiques, fashionable restaurants, trendy and stylish bars.

After a delicious Indian meal, we leisurely walk back to the Fairmont Vancouver Downtown.

Our arrival in Vancouver, had us staying at the Fairmont Vancouver Hotel, known as โ€˜The Castle in the City.โ€™ Our Fairmont Gold Room provided us with dedicated lounge and concierge service, including meals, snacks, hors d'oeuvres, and drinks.

We took a stroll (14.000 steps) down Robson Street, the epicenter of Downtown Vancouver's shopping district. Robson Street boasts a truly diverse array of shops and restaurants.
