We love a beach here in Australia, and each year we eagerly await the official best beaches list so we know where to lay our towels.

You may not have heard of this gem in Wilsons Promontory National Park, but that ought to change. Squeaky Beach garners its name from the acoustics of compressed quartz and silica sand underfoot and is recognisable by the impressive, coloured granite boulders at either end.

I’ve been raving about Wilsons Promontory, Tidal River Campground, the pristine waters, walking tracks and Squeaky Beach since our road trip to this amazing slice of Aussie coastline.
