Last Saturday night - A great evening coming together with travel industry colleagues, suppliers and friends to recognise the achievements of our wonderful industry over the past 12 months.

Whilst a team effort the growth and professionalism of the CLIA programme is truly outstanding with a record number of memberships this year.

Jenny has been working hard exploring the areas around Nice to ensure our clients have all the latest attractions and amazing restaurants to include in their itineraries we curate for them.
This includes visiting the charming medieval hilltop village of EZE - where they even made their own scents at the Galimard Perfume Factory.
Then a visit to the Villa et Jardins Ephrussi de Rothschild - a magnificent palace with 9 individually themed incredible gardens with amazing views!

Our staff have been assisting clients for over 41 years with their cruise holidays! So cruising is certainly not new to us! That is why we have been "your Cruise Centre of the South" for 25+ years!

40 years ago, common names of Cruise lines/ships you would hear being discussed in the office were, Sitmar, Oriana, Achille Lauro, Fairstar, Cunard's QE2, Royal Viking Line, and CTC Bellorussiya! Pictured Cunard's QE2 in Sydney back in the 1980's.

Fortunately much has changed in cruising over 40 years, and as the 2025 Summer Season approaches - we can now take much shorter voyages and visit many more ports, the dining is far elevated, ships have wifi (unheard of back in the 80's - 90's) and the entertainment and facilities are next level. One could never have imagined waterslides, infinity pools, helicopters for flight seeing, zip flying from one side of the ship to the other, culinary kitchens, wave pools - let alone dodgem cars and submarines all those years ago!

We invite you to join us on our private fully escorted small group (max 20 people) journey from Marseille to Barcelona in June, 2025.

Our wonderful Tour Managers Anne & Barry have curated this incredible journey which commences with a land tour including some of their very favourite spots in south west France, and northern Spain, and a few new ones which you will discover together.

Accommodation (largely, with extended stays) has been painstakingly chosen, ranging from our small authentic Hotel d’Entraigues in Uzès, to the glamorous luxury of the Hotel Grand Palais in Biarritz. Along the way, we will enjoy special dining, and other surprise inclusions – the actual delights of which are not obvious in written form. We have also included all known expenses to, as best we can, remove the necessity for you to constantly be paying for admission fees, gratuities and so on.

It’s a programme of highlights from start to finish with slow travel a feature with many longer stays. On the subject of “finish”, it will be a special treat for us all to cruise on a very new cruise line which is already the talk of the oceans; Explora Journeys. Clients Ruth & Helen have been enjoying their river cruise down the extremely high and fast running rivers of Europe from Amsterdam to BuCharest, onboard Uniworld's magnificent S.S. Beatrice river ship.

These photos look like the villages are almost falling into the rivers with the high water levels.

CONGRATULATIONS JENNY - 20 years at Ramsgate Travel Service.

It is 20 years since Jenny joined our RTS team. We received a call from Jenny’s former employer, an industry colleague, who unfortunately had to make her position redundant. She wondered if we may be looking for staff before Jenny had to look for a new job - she knew she would be a great fit for us.

WELL WE WERE NOT LOOKING FOR STAFF!!! However, I had met Jenny at numerous industry events and knew her and said "tell Jenny to come in for a chat". It is always stressful looking for new employees so, by the time Jenny came to visit, we had created a position for her - our first job share role – quite a new thing 20 years ago!! Thank heavens we did before someone else snapped Jenny up!! Maria still asks after Jenny 20 years on, and to this day I thank her for connecting Jenny to us.

Over the years, as Jenny’s children have grown, her days have increased to 4 days a week. The family are avid travellers and together have visited all corners of the globe enjoying an extremely diverse array of holidays which includes all kinds of cruises, and interesting land-based destinations, including swimming with whale sharks in Mexico!
Jenny has also enjoyed some incredible educational work trips to many exotic places including South America, India, South Africa and of course European river cruising as seen in these photos.

20 years is an incredible milestone. In those two decades with RTS, Jenny has shown extraordinary levels of dedication, hard work, along with an unwavering commitment to our clients - with an encyclopedic recall of where they have travelled and when!

Jenny loves to reconnect with clients for whom she has previously created amazing holidays and, equally, she enjoys meeting new clients and ensuring they benefit from her years of expertise and knowledge to create the best possible holidays for them.

Talia and Justine finished the month of August immersed in learning all things cruise over 2 days at the CLIA Cruise 360 - the largest ever cruise conference in the Southern Hemisohere with close to 900 attendees.

From Ocean cruising, River cruising and Expedition cruising we learnt the emerging trends and what a fabulous 25/26 season we have ahead of us!!

We had some really interesting and informative expert panelists throughout the day sharing insights on the wonderful opportunities that are ahead of us in cruise and the theme of the conference was ‘Embrace The Future’.

As your Cruise Centre of the South, we have been in business and sending clients all around the world on cruises for over 40 years - so we are certainly continuing to embrace the future of cruise.

Many people ask us when is the best time to travel to the Canadian Rockie's?? April - September but you are relying entirely on the weather for gorgeous days like these clients experienced. As you can see blue sky days, plenty of snow around and the sun is shining in Banff and this was mid April 2024.

Ken and Colin have been exploring the world with us for many years, however they casually mentioned just last year, that they had never been to Canada and Alaska! So we quickly rectified that and off they headed for the start of the season. We were a little worried about the weather but it was just superb!

The Gents thoroughly enjoyed their 22 day APT Rockies Odyssey Tour including an Alaska Cruise with Holland America Line.

So the message is - if Canada & Alaska are on your wish list - contact us next week and lets make it happen for you in 2025.
The cruises in Alaska can be as short as 7 days, so you don't need 3 weeks like these lucky clients if you are time poor.
