Golden Alpine Trails Tour - Kyoto
We arrived Kyoto as our final destination and enjoyed visiting some sites together. Good things about ending my tour in Kyoto is that my fellow travelers can extend their stay as they wish to enjoy more of Kyoto. I can guarantee that Kyoto has more to offer even you extend a week or a month. Ookini 😊

Golden Alpine Trails Tour - Kamikochi
I love Kamikochi. It’s hard to describe how wonderful this place is. My tour group always stays two nights here, so we can enjoy walking, onsen, food and so on. My 2026 of this tour still has 6 spots available. Contact us directly if you’re interested in joining me!!

Golden Alpine Trail Tour - Shinetsu Trail 3
Yesterday, we’ve walked section 3 from Wakui to Katsuraike. Unlike Kumano Kodo or Nakasendo, this walking trail is not busy at all… we only met one other walker who was collecting mushrooms yesterday. Let us know if you’d like to walk the trail less visited. We can introduce you beautiful people, onsen♨️and food too😊

Golden Alpine Trails - Shinetsu Trail 2
Yesterday, we’ve walked section 2 from Akaike to Wakui. It’s not popular (yet) and we’ve met only one other walker but definitely it’s one of my favourite nature walk in Japan. Today, we’ll be walking section 3 and I can’t wait to see more of big Buna (beech) trees 😊

Golden Alpine Trails Tour - Mt Takao Tokyo
Welcome to Japan my fellow travellers. Yesterday, as a preparation for our walks together ahead, we all walked Mt Takao. Fuji san (Mt Fuji) was shy once again but we enjoyed our time in the nature just a hour train ride from Tokyo station. Today, we’re off to Shinetsu Trail 🎉

Hokkaido Kamui Walks - Shiretoko
I like Shiretoko. The name Shiretoko derived from the Ainu word “sir etok (the end of the earth)”. We enjoyed walking around forests here with a local nature guide Yuki san. Ookini Yuki san & my fellow travelers for walking with me😊

Hokkaido Kamui Walks - Daisetsuzan
Yesterday, we all took a cable car and a chair lift up to Mt Kurodake and enjoyed Kamui Forest walk around 1,500m level. Then two of us walked up another 500m to the summit. It was so beautiful and easy to understand why Ainu people called this area “kamui mintara (gods playground)”. Ookini ☀️😊☀️

Hokkaido Kamui Walks - Upopoy Ainu Museum
The Ainu are the indigenous people of northern Japan. In the Ainu language “Ainu” means human and “Kamui” means spirit-deities. It was a wonderful opportunity for all of us to learn a bit about Ainu before heading for deeper Hokkaido. Iyairaykere (thank you in Ainu) 😊

Kurama to Kibune walk is the best things to do if you’d like to escape from tourist crowded sites of Kyoto. I love trains.
