" We contacted New Caledonia Voyages asking for a quote for a week’s stay including the overwater bungalows at Hilton Double Tree on Ilot Maître. My wife and I were celebrating her 60th birthday. Within 24hrs we had a response from Jeremie who provided a suggested itinerary and cost. It looked very suitable to us so we agreed. Jeremie then forwarded us all the documentation needed. And at the last moment, when one flight was cancelled, he immediately organised a replacement flight and provided updated docs. In terms of the organisation that New Caledonia Voyages arranged for us, everything went perfectly. The flights, the transfers, the accommodation were all booked and everyone was expecting us when we arrived. Transfers especially were great and we didn’t have to worry about anything. There was always someone to meet us when we expected, and the staff at hotels, ferry etc all seemed to know when we were coming and leaving. I’m a real worrier normally but I didn’t need to be. The holiday itself was great. Hilton Noumea is located near many nice eateries and we enjoyed our stay there. Hilton Double Tree on Ilot Maître was fantastic. Really a dream come true. The overwater bungalows looking down through crystal clear water at massive amounts of sea life: huge fish, colourful fish, sea turtles, banded sea snakes and different corals. There were a few sea eagles on the island which we watched fishing. The resort has many staff. They were all very friendly and helpful and even made good suggestions to us to save some money. We went back into Noumea a few times on the ferry which was so easy, and again friendly. We had some very fine food while we were there. I tried to refresh some of my school French before we left and I think it really helped. All the staff spoke good English, but just the fact that we tried to speak French I think helped. Also we had a lot of fun with some of the confusion I created by saying completely wrong words and getting corrected. Of course anything serious we could clarify in English if needed. Overall we could not be more satisfied with New Caledonia Voyages. As they say, our experience exceeded all our expectations. Also the price was good I think, and we are not wealthy. Lastly I would advise anyone travelling to New Caledonia that the prices in general are about 30% higher than in Australia at this time. And that is in the supermarkets etc, so do prepare enough spending money for restaurants, souvenirs etc Many thanks to Jeremie who organised our entire trip. We never could have done this ourselves. We feel so lucky that we made the right decision to take this holiday. It was a dream come true."

You can learn French but also have a good time in Beautiful New Caledonia! We welcomed different groups who didn't necessarily know each other upon arriving in New Caledonia but had a wonderful time. CREIPAC are French courses, of course, but they are also beautiful meetings 😍!

Sheraton New Caledonia Deva Spa and Golf Resort offers something new and exciting to the New Caledonia visitor experience – a real South Pacific tropical beach resort with a unique blend of the local Melanesian and French flavours without having to leave the mainland.

The location is superb - a beautiful, long beach on the coast out from Bourail (population just under 5,000) which is New Caledonia’s second biggest town after Noumea. While the beach itself is spectacular, there is substantial sea-grass in the lagoon which is great for attracting Dugongs but makes the lagoon unpleasant for swimming. There are good swimming and snorkelling spots 10 minutes along the coast and the Resort operates tours which take in these places.

The Resort has a terrific swimming pool. Sheraton New Caledonia Deva Spa and Golf Resort is approximately 160kms from Noumea and 110kms from Tontouta International Airport. The road from Noumea to Bourail is sealed and once past Tontouta Airport on the way north-west, winds around the mountains and valleys to Bourail before dropping down to the coast at Poe. It’s a pleasant drive which takes a little over 2.5 hours from Noumea or just over 1.5 hours from Tontouta Airport.

The average monthly temperature throughout the year is around 24°C in the shade.
It hovers between 20-22°C during the cooler months (July/August) and 27-28°C during the hotter months (December/January/February),
