Does Bumble for Friends have an adventure category? 😅

“Where did my friends… go?” Life changes. We move for work, some start families, travel, and commitments pop up. Suddenly, our friendship circles shift.

Making friends as an adult? Sometimes, it’s tough to find your people. 🤷‍♀️

It’s already hard enough to sync up calendars!

We get it. When life’s seasons change and you want a buddy for a hike, a cuppa, a campout, or even an overseas trek, but your usual pals can’t make it.

That’s why we host free community meetups! Just like last Saturday’s Katoomba Falls walk with our wonderful host Zo. 🌿

We soaked in stunning valley views, admired beautiful waterfalls, and even spotted a few swamp wallabies. The rain kindly waited until after our walk, making it a perfect morning in nature!

Come connect, meet new friends, and enjoy a lovely day out. 🌟

Meet ups and trips are loaded from time to time (best to be on the newsletter for updates) + we will let you know here!

Been on a trip or meet up with us and made a friend? We’d love to hear from you! Comment below. We’re choosing a friendship for a cute story 🥰.

What an AMAZING!, AMAZING!, AMAZING time this past week has been!

🐢 Green turtles, unicorn fish, dugongs, whale sharks, humpback whales, and rock wallabies!

The Ningaloo Blues have to be real because flying out of Exmouth yesterday was hard. This pristine, magical place (and the group!) was tough to leave.

We kayaked and snorkelled along the Ningaloo Reef. Here are some of the snorkel spots you should check out if you ever visit:

🐠 Lakeside
🦪 Oyster Stacks
🌴 Coral Bay
🏝️ Turquoise Bay

We saw so many blue angelfish (also found in the Red Sea). They have a dark blue-black body with a white ring on the rear.

We also completed the Mandu Mandu and Yardie Creek hikes.

Did you know? Mandu Mandu beads found in Mandu Mandu Gorge date back to at least 30,000 years ago!

There is so much to unpack from this week, and we’re off again with another group this Sunday!

Without giving too much away (come see this amazing place for yourself), here are some of the highlight photos!!

This group, thank you so much!!

Comment below "Ningaloo," and we’ll send you the link to the September 2024 Humpback Whale trip and the newly announced 2025 trips. Hurry, places don't last long.

5 nights camping and 2 nights in a 4.5 star resort, this trip is a goodie.

+ so much more for June!

This might be the schedule you need for a reset or a yeeha!

Sure, it’s already the middle of the year (when did that happen?), but now is a great time to think about the things you said you wanted to do! Have you planned them in?

We know life gets sticky with family, work commitments, and communities we pour ourselves into. That’s where we come in to take away the hassle, logistics, and “thinking.”

🐋 We have two groups heading to Ningaloo this June (2025 Whale Shark Trips are now open FYI) *Hurry, those places don’t last long.

🧘‍♀️ There is 1 spot left on the June 14th - 16th Yoga and Hiking Weekend up in the Blue Mountains.

AND

🏕️ A great overnight hike on part of the Great North Walk later in June.

🌧️ Yeah, we did it! Despite the crazy wet weather, we tackled the Kiama Coast Walk this morning for a free community meet up.

🌦️ We managed to beat most of the rain, enjoying a fantastic walk. From catching up with women who have been on 6 trips to meeting those joining for the first time, it was an absolute blast! So much happiness and energy spent with you all! 😊

👏 Thanks for braving the weather and showing up with your adventurous spirit! Looking forward to seeing you all again soon!

👋 Comment ‘WHARF’ below and we’ll show you this amazing overnight hiking location!

Last weekend, we soaked in perfect weather, the soothing sounds of the ocean, and breathtaking moonrises, all while enjoying sunrise breakfasts. This hike offered an incredible mix of coastal cliff-top hiking, meandering through melaleuca archways on single tracks, beach walking, and exploring historic landmarks and architecture—all topped off with a cosy fire and a sheltered campsite for the night.

We LOVE taking you here!

Here are 3 top tips to get you started on your overnight hiking adventures:

1️⃣ Start Close to Home
Start in a familiar area. This reduces the need for extensive planning and gives you the comfort of knowing the terrain. Whether it’s a national park you love or a local trail, staying close to home makes your first adventure less daunting.

2️⃣ Pack Light
Opt for lightweight gear, especially for big items like tents and sleeping bags. Remember, even food weight counts! Ditch non-essentials and opt for compact, multi-use items like a quick-drying towel or an e-book.

3️⃣ Break in Your Boots
Ensure your footwear is well broken-in before hitting the trail. Comfortable, reliable boots or trail runners are crucial to avoid blisters and cope with rough terrains.

Bonus Tip: Hike with Friends!
Share the load and the laughter. Hiking with friends can make your adventure even more memorable. That’s where we come in!

Thanks to all the wonderful ladies who joined us here last weekend. Your company was fabulous, and sharing meals with ocean views was unforgettable!

Ready to tackle an overnight hike? Start with these tips and discover places like this with us! (We seriously love empowering you to learn new tips and skills).

➡️ Comment ‘WHARF’ below, and we’ll send you details for our next overnight hike here in October.

See you there!

Finding the right balance between work, family, community commitments (and everything else) is an ongoing journey.

When deadlines loom and the pressure piles up, it’s pretty normal to feel overwhelmed.

There are no magic wands (we’re still searching), but spending time in nature is:

🌿 Proven to increase your overall health and wellbeing, along with relaxation benefits.

🌿 A way to fill up your own cup first.

🌿 Breathing! (We’ve all been doing this our whole lives, but fresh eucalyptus air, trail steps, and big breaths are good for you).

Combine the above with a weekend of nourishing food, stress-relieving yoga classes, and a group to giggle and laugh with (or find a solo spot to read a book overlooking the Kanimbla Valley), and you have exactly what we’ve made for you.

If you need a weekend away, this is perfect for you.

All the logistics are organised, so you can turn up on Friday, go for a walk, and step into a yoga class before dinner is served for you.

Add in two more hikes (a sneaky canyon visit we don’t tell you about) and two more yoga classes, and you have this perfect mix of movement and relaxation.

Because we know so many of you deserve this, we have a special deal on offer to help get you on the Women’s Blue Mountains and Yoga Escape.

🐠 Bucket list trip to add to your list + the best snorkel spot on Ningaloo Reef!

Women travel from all over Australia (and the world) for this special trip.

"What’s the best part about visiting Ningaloo, and where should we snorkel?"

Let us just say, it's all good.

Once you have a green turtle swim by you and hundreds of fish come up and swim around you while snorkelling, you’ll find it hard to snorkel anywhere else again. 🐢

Our picks (we can’t just pick one—there are too many good spots) and we take you here in kayaks for snorkelling, include (save these if you ever visit!):

🤿 Oyster Stacks (at high tide): A unique lagoon in the narrowest section along the coast.
🤿 Lakeside: Amazing corals very close to shore.
🤿 Osprey Sanctuary Zone: Huge bombies out here.
🤿 Turquoise Bay: Strong currents, so go with someone and assess conditions.

Plus, a few sneaky spots we don’t reveal until you’re on the trip (did you know we snorkel from the kayaks!). We paddle out to special reef sections tourists don’t usually visit (if the conditions are right), and we jump overboard. Sometimes we see manta rays, bottlenose dolphins, reef sharks, and so many fish.

Our women’s 2025 dates were announced today! Hurry, there are just three departures in 2025, so get out your calendar to book your spot.

2025 dates:
☀️ 25th May - 1st June
☀️ 8th - 15th June
☀️ 22nd - 29th June

We finish our camping/kayaking component of the trip, staying in Exmouth at the 4.5-star resort, then head off the following day to swim with whale sharks. There's so much excitement on this trip, it’s ridiculous.

You know (and we know) that spending time in nature is good for us.

But only 30% of women nationwide spend their time in outdoor activities. Many people (both women and men) are “busy” with work, family, or don’t have access to outdoor activities.

Sometimes it’s even hard to know where to begin. Or who to go with.

That’s why we’re committed to creating unique, small-group women’s overnight hikes, which focus on time to connect together—outdoors.

Time to learn skills, make friends, and have a good ol’ giggle in beautiful places.

Read more about our upcoming Wharf to Wharf Women’s Overnight Hike on the far NSW South Coast this May 25th-26th, a trip to take you away camping, hiking and watching whales from the beach!

If your day-to-day feels like a perpetual uphill battle, consider this 👉👉👉 amidst the inclines, we encounter communities, fresh challenges, forge new friendships, and unearth facets of ourselves.

Amidst those ascents, we stumble upon yaks, traverse mountain passes, and behold vistas that arrest our senses.

These are the moments to reflect upon the arduous uphill climbs with pride—the instances forged by our refusal to, well… give up.

Though the daily grind may pose challenges, always keep in sight the purpose moving you forward. Infuse your routine with those “this is why” moments.

As for this adventure? It’s the Langtang Valley in Nepal—an extraordinary trek with 6 days of hiking, breathtaking panoramas, cultural immersion, indulging in yak cheese, and connecting with people.

🌸 With only 3 spots remaining for the September 25, 2024 trek, would you come with us? You’re invited!

Some days are simply golden. ☀️ Our women’s Royal National Park day hike last Saturday.

Golden light, clear air, a pounding surf to remind us of our insignificance and best of all, golden company.

What’s the best time to summit Australia’s highest peak, Mount Kosciuszko 🏔️

November to March, and early April, offer the best conditions for a summit walk. But, hey, we're the kind of women who also embrace the winter months for snowshoeing adventures! ❄️ (See third photo!).

Regardless of the season, always check the weather before setting out. Alpine areas are unpredictable - it can even snow in summer! ☀️❄️

🌼 Love flowers? Spring is your season to see the hills adorned with yellow billy buttons and silver snow daisies.

Suggested hikes to dive into:

-Main Range Trails (22km loop)
-Summit Mount Kosciuszko (18.6km)
-Porcupine Walk (5km)km), a perfect addition to your summit walk
Porcupine Walk (5km)
-Thredbo River Track (4km, one-way)

Thinking about an overnight adventure? Make sure to check the NSWNP alerts page and the weather. Experience is crucial for camping in alpine areas or embarking on something epic like the six-day hike from Kosciuszko to Kiandra, stretching 125km through breathtaking backcountry.

Discover charming huts along the K2K, like Mawson's Hut, Horse Hut and Whites River Hut. (Some of which we visit on the snowshoeing trips!). Come!!

Want to explore this magnificent area with us? We adore guiding you through it!

Trips set off in November and March each year, but spaces are limited. Interested?

🍃 With a heart for the outdoors, a mind for meditating, and a passion for empowering women, Saskya truly lives the life she loves in the great outdoors.

Saskya is an adventure seeker, deeply in love with the mountains and the healing embrace of forest therapy. She has a special affinity for plants and an equally strong passion for gathering around a cozy fire to enjoy spirited conversations. She loves lighting them at camp for you!

As one of our Blue Mountains Guides, Saskya's expertise isn't limited to just one location. You're likely to meet her leading the way on Cowan day hikes, Great North Walk overnight hikes), and she's gearing up to guide in the stunning Kosciuszko Alps this March.

Saskya's love for making miso and Udon is only matched by her joy in sharing it with others. Growing up in a family that valued outdoor adventures, she's naturally skilled at helping others explore their own passion for the great outdoors.

"I'm dedicated to upskilling women on our trips, encouraging them to push their personal boundaries and discover more about themselves in these environments," Saskya says.

When she's not guiding, Saskya volunteers her time teaching bushcraft skills, often focusing on empowering women on their outdoor journeys.

And in a delightful twist, Saskya doesn't own a TV—how good!

Be sure to meet Saskya on a trip soon. Perhaps you'll even share a moment around the fire, enjoying a bowl of miso together.

Um, are you seriously that cute? HOW!?

What's the top spot to visit on the NSW South Coast? Are you asking us to choose just one? Well, if we must, it's the stretch between Pretty Beach and Batemans Bay.

Where this little cutie comes to visit us at camp.

Picture coves, whales making their way up the coast, and stones that actually sing—yes, there's a place called Singing Stones Beach for a reason. And kangaroos hopping along the shore. If Pretty Beach, Pebbly Beach, South Durras, or Oakey Beach don't ring a bell, take a break from social media, look them up, and click on the pictures. You won't regret it!

At Women Want Adventure, this is our happy place, and we're excited about sharing it with you. Imagine hiking for four days, camping along the breathtaking coast, and trying something new. This trail, recently reopened by NSW National Parks after being affected by fires and floods, is in better shape than ever, thanks to their incredible restoration work.

🍃 Join guides Tracy and Mon from June 15th-18th for an unforgettable experience. 🍃

We'll handle the transport of your gear from one stunning location to the next, allowing you to hike with just a day pack. Each night, we set up camp in a new spot. Prepare for morning swims (even in June!), delicious meals, endless stories, and laughter. We're eager to meet you!

🌸 We have tents, tables, Esky’s… the list really goes you (you should see our shed!).

Spaces are limited—only 5 spots left. So, hurry and secure yours here: https://www.womenwantadventure.com.au/event/womens-murramarang-4-day-south-coast-hike-15th-18th-june-2024
