Are you flying with Singapore Airlines soon?

Do you know if you sign up to get krisflyer number (their loyalty program) you get complimentary wifi no matter what cabin you are travelling in.

Just make sure you give it to me at least 24 hours before take off so I can pop it in your booking

Packing 101.

One week to go until my next work trip!

Some of my clients start packing weeks in advance.

For better or worse, I am the classic night before packer.

Top 5 hints for packing last minute.

1. Start making a list a week before with things you think about as you go about your day. I like to break mine down to 3 categories.. pack in advance, pack the night before and pack on the day. I then cross off as I pack.. I love crossing off my to do list.

2. Check weather forecast of where you are going.. usually you can get a 14 day forecast for a general idea.

3. Try and gather essential travel goods in the one place for quick packing i.e travel adaptors, passport, documents, vaccine certificates, currency and travel cards etc. So you don't forgot those essential travel items that are not needed when you aren't travelling.

4. Don't plan anything for the night before you leave. This will only lead to more travel anxiety.

5. Make sure you have a good travel agent. Then you know all your documents are ready, travel plans are all sorted and you have someone to contact if you need assistance. All you have to focus on is what am I going to wear and need.

Should I start my river cruise in Amsterdam or Budapest?

If at all possible I think starting your river cruise in Amsterdam is the best option. Amsterdam is a fascinating city but cruising in you are greeted with a more industrial feel port. Where as Budapest is just stunning and with the backdrop of the Castle, the parliament house there is something so enchanting and such a great destination to sail into.

River cruising is such a great way to see Europe. Unpack once, no long drive days and you get to see some beautiful cities.

Is it time for a beach holiday?

I have been planning quite a few holidays to Fiji, Samoa and Cook Islands over the last few months and I feel suitably inspired. Beach holidays are a great way for you to invite your friends and family to all get together to celebrate those special milestones or just to all connect together. Every cruise ship needs a good pool...but take a look at this infinity pool with an inviting hot tub behind it.

This was taken on a ship inspection I did last year on the Viking Orion. They have itineraries across the world.. imagine the endless ocean vistas or the different landscapes you can take in from this infinity pool and hot tub. Replace the backdrop of the Newcastle Port with the Fjords of Norway, the old walled city of Dubrovnik or the penguins of the Falkland Islands.

I will always remember this phrase as if you say: 'a fairys toe' really fast it sounds like it!

Learning a few phrases in the local language can really make a difference when you travel.

Bridget's Car Hire hot tips below.

Self Drive holidays can be so much fun BUT there is a lot of fine print to sort through. I like to go over it all in detail with my clients.

3 Tips for a smooth holiday:

1. For the NSW drivers make sure you bring your physical drivers licence.
2. Check to see if you need an international drivers permit.
3. Has the main driver got a credit card in their name?

BONUS tip.. take a picture of the outside an inside of your car at collection making sure you capture any imperfections in the car just in case.

I could go on and on. Just make sure you know what you need and what you are signing for.

Did you know I used to live in Europe. I first went there when I was 18 and I lived in Warsaw, Poland for 6 months teaching English and backpacked around for 3 months.

I then went back after I finished University and worked as a tour director for 3.5 years. Europe was literally my office as each Summer I would take groups in a coach across Europe. The longest tour I did was 49 days.

I am very passionate about tailor making itinerary's for my clients who often have limited time to explore Europe.

Destination Inspiration: Dubrovnik, Croatia!

You won't regret putting Dubrovnik on your travel list for 2025. With so many different options to explore from a city stay, an independent island hopping package or a luxury small cruise ship island hopping experience.

My hot tip: If you go in summer make sure you do the city wall walk (which is spectacular) in the early morning as otherwise it is too hot. Also use the alternative entrance at Ploce Gate instead of the main option Pile Gate. It is usually less busy and also you end up walking around with fewer people blocking your photos.

The local Colombian market is the best place to go to in the morning. It is home to the freshest fruit and veges, some you have never heard of or tasted but sure to delight your senses. The kids have loved choosing what to buy to cook at home. A trip to the market is not complete without a visit to one of the stalls to buy a fresh juice (your choice of fruit in either milk or water) or a fruit salad (covered in condensed milk and grated white cheese).
