Opening weekend of the snow season and this was the amazing weather!! No snow but beautiful sunshine 🌞 and a beautiful view from our front verandah ☺️

Snow making has begun! The temps are dropping! Mother natures snow is coming but in the mean time the crew at Falls Creek are testing out the snow guns. ❄️

We have some availability if you want to head on up and see some early snow. Perfect for families just testing the waters with children and snow. Head on up and enjoy a hot chocolate and the most delicious hot cinnamon donuts.

Availability from 19th May until 6th June. Post this time there is a resort entry fee that needs to be paid when heading up the mountain. 🏔️

PUMP TRACK OPEN | The new Mount Beauty Pump Track at the Mount Beauty Recreation Reserve is now open!

For rider safety and to protect the banks, temporary fencing will remain in place until the landscaping is complete.

Please enter the track from the northern side.

This project has been a partnership between Team Mount Beauty, AGL and Alpine Shire Council.

We'd like to acknowledge Team Mount Beauty in particular for all their hard work getting the pump track built for the enjoyment of the community and visitors.

Around Tawonga South area there is plenty of places to hire your snow chains! Be prepared. Driving on icy roads is something different and we don’t want our guests to get into any danger so always carry chains with you when heading up the hill. You may not need to use them but you MUST carry them just incase.

Heading for the hills soon?

While most visitors were well prepared for the conditions, last year at Mt Hotham alone, around 5700 vehicles were turned around by police and authorised officers for not carrying appropriate wheel chains to drive in the snow.

Remember: It is a legal requirement to carry suitable wheel chains at all times during the snow season when entering an alpine resort area. They must be fitted when directed to do so or it is snow go.

Follow these snow trip tips, to make sure you are prepared to make your way to the slopes safely ⤵

❄️ Drive cautiously – keep two hands on the wheel, use gradual pressure on the accelerator to avoid wheel spin, brake gently and avoid unnecessary gear changes.
❄️ Avoid braking when cornering and use a low gear when driving down the mountain.
❄️ Maintain a safe braking distance from vehicles in front, especially in poor visibility.
❄️ If you hit ice, remain calm and apply the brakes gently to slowly regain traction.
❄️ Only use low beam lights when driving at night. High beams do not work in high mist areas.
❄️ If you can’t see - pull over somewhere safe, put on your hazard lights on and keep your engine running.
❄️ Ensure your car’s radiator is filled with anti-freeze and, if you’re driving a diesel, use Alpine Mix.

If you’re heading out always let someone know where you’re going and how long you’re expecting to be away and regularly check conditions as they can change quickly.

❄️ ⛄️ We are heading into our 3rd Winter season as Air bnb hosts and it’s been wonderful!

We are so excited to welcome back returning guests again who have stayed with us every year! As well as new guests who we hope will also become our regulars each year.

Official winter season at Falls Creek kicks off the long weekend of June (10th!) and runs until around October.

This year we have something new for our guests to make their snow trips a little better.… we will announce more soon!

Access to Falls Creek along Bogong High Plains Road will be restored ahead of schedule on Monday 24 April following a mammoth work blitz that has seen our crews work seven days a week and battle harsh conditions – including a one in 10-year rain event.

With just over 24hours to go Vanessa Coombs is in the lead with a $430 bid. That’s $290 to be donated to 1st Kyabram Scouts. We are incredibly humbled by the response and can’t wait to see if it pumps even more. As a little more to entice you in the run to closing time, if the bids exceed $640(thats a $500 donation to Scouts) we will give the winner the option of 2 x 2night stays or 1 x 4 night stay. Stay is valid until 31/12/23. It is transferable if you’d like to have 2 nights for yourself and gift the other 2 nights provided we reach the $640 mark in bids.
