Sad to hear of another terrible accident leaving another young person fighting for their lives. Positive thoughts are with you and yours Levi and the community.

As many of you already know Levi works for Mowing to You anytime he has spare, with great enthusiasm. He was in a terrible accident yesterday hit by a car at high speed. Please I ask you all to pray for this young champion as he is currently in an induced coma fighting for his life.

A terrible accident in Gympie yesterday has Local TCB lad Nemani fighting for his life in hospital right before Xmas. Our boy has set up a go fund me page for his mate in an effort to try and raise medical funds to help Nemani and his his family. Any amount donated would vastly help. Money is tight for many, sharing and sending positive thoughts will help in other ways. Thank you. Xx 🙏

📣 Our 6 month working holiday has made it to a 12 month anniversary 🎉 … apparently the Whitsundays will do that to ya!

With population growth there comes children and in the early 1930's local shopkeeper Viv Mason identified that there was a real need for a school. A Building Committee was formed to drive the project whose members were Joseph Rogers (chairman), Martin Scullett (treasurer), Viv Mason (secretary), Thomas Impey and William Payne.

Through hard work and persistence Wallu School was opened by headteacher Herbert Court on the 1st of February 1934 with 28 children enrolled. This was a great achievement considering the financial restrictions during the Depression. A school house had been sourced from the Wolvi School and moved to Wallu to the school site where Tuncunba Gardens is today.

Within a few years the school had outgrown the original schoolhouse as enrollments had grown to 36 children so a new school building was brought in from Bell's Creek in 1937, the same year the school changed it's name to Tin Can Bay. The old schoolhouse was sold at auction to the Powell family, moved to Bream St and used as a holiday home until it was demolished in 1964 by F. Langford to construct a new dwelling.
