Ride North invites Jeep owners to join us for an unforgettable journey from Cairns to the northernmost tip of Australia, concluding in Weipa. This 10-day expedition, from October 5th to October 15th, 2024, will take you through some of Australia’s most breathtaking tracks and trails, all while in the company of our professional guides.

I made this clip to show the rich and diverse landscapes of the Canning Stock Route. The terrain changed constantly with a grand finale of a Flooded Lake Gregory, I was in awe of its sheer size and vast expanse.

Canning Stock Route May 2024. Dust, mud and an inland sea. From May 13th to May 20th, 2024, we embarked on an unforgettable journey along the Canning Stock Route, traversing over 1900km from Wiluna to Halls Creek. This eight-day adventure took us through some of Australia's most remote and breathtaking landscapes, and the abundance of water on the ground added a unique twist to our experience. One of the standout moments was at Lake Gregory, which appeared as an inland sea, a rare and stunning sight. Durba Spring was another highlight; it rained while we were there, allowing us to enjoy rock-warmed waterfalls cascading on both sides of the canyon—a truly magical experience. Well 6 offered good water and a shady, serene campsite that was perfect for a restful night. Crossing Savoury Creek was straightforward due to its lack of water and firm base. Navigating around Lake Disappointment was relatively easy with low water level, allowing us to traverse both the high track and the edge of the salt pan without issue. Well 25 was flooded, but with a solid base and a depth of only 300-350mm, we managed to stay on track without any problems. The corrugation to and from Kunawarritji was tough, but the water at Well 35's windmill was refreshing and plentiful. Our crew of adventurers made the trip an incredible experience. The camaraderie and shared experiences turned this journey into a trip of a lifetime. We were also fortunate to witness numerous camels grazing the open plains, adding to the experience. Overall, the 2024 Canning Stock Route trip was epic, and it was a privilege to see so much water in this typically arid landscape. This journey was an exceptional blend of challenging terrain and natural beauty, making it an unforgettable adventure. Big thanks to our fellow Desert Adventurers.
