🚨 Hello Members - here’s an Important update on what’s happening with the Toowoomba Airport. As previously advised, Toowoomba City Airport is under real threat of closure. Toowoomba Regional Council have quietly moved forward the date of the meeting to decide whether our Airport will remain open.

We are asking that you help show your support by attending the Council meeting at 8.30am on Tuesday 28th May 2024 at Council Chambers in Ruthven Street. The Aero Club will be closed for the morning so all staff can attend. I can’t stress enough the importance of your physical attendance at Council Chambers on Tuesday morning. The bigger the numbers - the greater chance of our voice being heard.

The height of financial mismanagement and stupidity.😎

Seeking transparency: Despite requests as concerned stakeholders for financial information regarding Toowoomba City Airport's purported debt, shockingly, our request via Right to Information was denied due to the alleged non-existence of documents. It's baffling how such a significant claim lacks supporting evidence. Even if confidential, internal management reports should exist.

Mayor Geoff McDonald's recent statement adds another layer of concern – previous financial reports suggest that the council "does not recover the full cost of the aerodrome activities from revenue generated by leases and landing fees."
Yet, when asked to provide these critical financial documents, they're nowhere to be found. How can we conduct a thorough financial review of the aerodrome without access to these crucial records?
Transparency is not just desirable; it's essential for accountability.
Accountability and clarity are crucial, especially concerning public assets.
