Why would you ever book your own holiday when you can have your own travel experts on speed dial!
As seasoned travel agents, we’ve seen firsthand the unexpected challenges that can arise during a trip. From flight cancellations to medical emergencies, travel can sometimes throw a curveball when you least expect it. That’s why, no matter where we’re headed, we always make sure we’re covered by travel insurance.
Here's why:
🤯Peace of Mind: Knowing that you’re protected against unforeseen events allows you to fully relax and enjoy your holidays.
🏥Medical Coverage: Healthcare abroad can be incredibly expensive. With travel insurance, you are covered for unexpected medical expenses, so you don’t have to worry about the "what ifs."
❌Trip Cancellations or Interruptions: Life happens—flights get cancelled, and plans change. Travel insurance ensures you’re not left out of pocket when things don’t go as planned.
🧳Lost or Delayed Luggage: No one wants to be stranded without their belongings. Insurance helps cover the cost of essential items if your luggage goes on its own adventure.
🦺Emergency Assistance: Whether it’s an emergency evacuation or dealing with a crisis, having 24/7 access to assistance is invaluable.
In the end, travel is about enjoying new experiences, not stressing over what could go wrong. That’s why we will always recommend our clients—and anyone heading off on an adventure—to invest in travel insurance.
It’s a small cost for a big safety net.
Whether you're taking a flight to Fiji or embarking on a 19-hour journey to Europe, lengthy flights can be boring, uncomfortable, and exhausting. The nuisances of long-haul travel can range in severity from the mildly inconvenient (annoying seatmates) to the downright dangerous (deep-vein thrombosis is no joke), and a poorly planned journey can be enough to not only ruin your day, but a few more afterward, too. Luckily, there are some easy ways to make a long flight infinitely more bearable.
So these are our top tips for surviving (because let’s be honest - no one’s thriving!) your long haul flight. Do you have your own long-haul flight travel hack?

Here’s our edit of the must-have carry-on list for the global galloper, just in case your checked-in bags don’t reach your destination when you do!
The Essentials…
🛂PASSPORT - You won’t get far without it, and make sure it’s valid for at least six months beyond the date when you plan to return home.
👛WALLET - with cash and credit cards. Minimum two cards that will allow you to access cash overseas.
📝ITINERARY - All your travel information with flight, hotel and car reservations plus all other documents. You may need to show these when you enter another country.
🖊️PEN - For filling out immigration and customs forms.
💊MEDICATION - Daily medications and vitamins. Anything you might need to take daily, plus any prescription medication. To make things more comfortable…
👁️EYE DROPS - Aircraft cabins are low humidity environments and eye drops are soothing balm for that scratchy, red-eye feeling.
😴EYE MASK - Your own personal dark space for that refreshing power nap.
👐HAND SANITISER - Even if the aircraft looks clean, give yourself a squirt before meals.
🎧HEADPHONES - Noise-reducing cut aircraft noise to a whisper, but even the in-ear items provide a quality listening experience. You might need an adapter to fit the on-board entertainment system outlet port. TOILETRIES - Toothbrush, toothpaste, deodorant and moisturiser. Whatever you need to get you through an overnight stay.
📱CHARGER AND ADAPTER PLUG - Keep the juice flowing to those vital electronics.
🧦SOCKS AND UNDERWEAR - No explanation required!

Kate's South Africa recap blog is now live! 🐘🦒🦏
There’s always the danger when you embark on an iconic adventure that the reality won’t match the buildup. That seeing the Big Five whilst on safari, roaming free in the wild, won’t be any more thrilling than seeing them safely confined in one of today’s modern, free range zoos. Let me put that fear to rest right here, right now.
It. Is. Not. The same.
But let’s not rush ahead, because there’s more to South Africa than just the, admittedly fabulous, wildlife experiences. When I travel I have a few basic essentials – immersive culture, one-of-a-kind accommodation, spectacular landscapes, friendly locals offering top notch service, meals to delight the taste buds, a cocktail or three and a great beach doesn’t go astray. South Africa didn’t disappoint.
