I come bearing some sad news. With almost 20 years in the Travel Industry, the time has come to sign off (for now). The past 18 months has been the toughest times for me, my business, my clients and most importantly my family. Its just not viable for us anymore and its time I changed professions and tried to put some bacon back on the table! Since making the decision I have had a flooding of beautiful travel memories coming back to me and am (now) constantly in awe of what I have achieved in my time in the travel industry. The places I have seen, the friendships and business contacts formed and most importantly the amazing community and devotion with you, my clients has been the icing on the cake. The joy you bring me when you eat at the restaurants I have recommended, stayed at the hotel, visited places and travelled to destinations you never thought you would, thanks to me, brings joy to my heart.

I have decided to follow my second love to travel - food and to head back to my old profession in hospitality and open a small European style deli. Inspired by my travels. From old world delis in New York, alimentaris in Italy and bodegas in Spain, ‘Mortadeli’ will be the place that will get you as close to these destinations until the borders re-open! Please come visit if you find yourself in Torquay in Victoria.

To all my clients who are still seeking refunds, don’t worry the process is still happening and I will be in touch when its arrived. If you have a credit or a future live booking, I will be sending contact with your new agent who will be your new point of contact. I have carefully found the right fit for my business and the next best agent to me (!) to look after my clients and business whilst I take a break and focus on the food business. I’m not fully gone so please if you are ready to travel and need a contact do get in touch and I will push you into the right hands to take care of your trips and hopefully one day will pick up where we left off!

I still have plans to host the two Polar Expeditions that were disrupted by COVID when the time is right so if your still interested to gather more info and be put on the waiting list get in touch – this is what’s keeping me positive that one day the world will resume and we will be once again be part of it.

Vaccination or Staycation?

With the stop/start of the roll out of the COVID-19 vaccine, many of us see hope that travel abroad will be return soon. The opening of the Trans-Tasman bubble later this week, is also incredibly positive as we slowly emerge from our COVID coma. But for some, a staycation on our safe shores is still a preference - I have you covered for both!

The demand for domestic travel has never been stronger and I urge you to start booking them in so you don't miss out. Many popular domestic destinations are fully booked out for most of the year as demand is pent up so be sure to get in early! For those keen to venture further abroad when it is possible, this month to visit our neighbours, its the same deal as I'm sure most Australians eager to dust of their passports have the same idea and there are only so many campervans in New Zealand to go around! Lets start booking.

And don't forget if you would rather sit and wait it out until International borders open that there are some countries which have re-opened to tourism and are ready to welcome you back as soon as we are allowed out! So you can start looking further abroad and have something ready to go when we are set free! Surprisingly cruises and land tours in Europe and in the Polar regions are selling out for later departures. DM me for some information about some Antarctica and Arctic group expedition trips I have planned for when the time is right.

The countdown is officially on: the Kiwi-Aussie travel bubble is coming on 19 April 2021. The New Zealand government has announced that quarantine-free travel to Aotearoa New Zealand will resume for Australian travellers and vice versa.

Sun-drenched beaches, pristine forests, glaciers and snow-capped mountain peaks – they've got it all! Not to mention, world-class wineries and delicious food.

Australians can now stop dreaming and just go – how about exploring Wanaka’s alpine scenery, award-winning wineries in Hawkes Bay, or the buzzing streets of Wellington?

You know the drill get in touch and dust off those passports and lets start using them once again!

ATTENTION AUSTRALIANS: Australia's domestic state and territory borders are now open to everyone. WA eased restrictions with VIC, meaning Australia's interstate borders are 100% open, for the first time in almost a year.

Australians are now free to travel across all interstate borders without undergoing quarantine for the first time since the coronavirus arrived.

Let's get exploring!
