Our Story

Australian Kokoda Tours (AKT) was formed in 2006 by Mick O'Malley after he decided to turn his passion for Australian war history into a career telling the Kokoda Soldiers' stories to other Australians. Mick is the newly elected President of the Kokoda Tour Operators Association. AKT has a large focus on the history of the Kokoda and trekkers will learn about the war as they undertake the challenging trek. We have an incredibly high completion success rate, largely due to the training preparation and advice provided before departure, as well as through the support provided while on the track.
