The annual 16 days of activism to end gender based violence starts today!
It is easy to feel overwhelmed and think we can’t make a difference, but we can! Many groups around the world and Townsville are participating. Let’s turn Townsville Orange !

Prevention starts with awareness and ends with action. This year, we're focusing on how prevention can make a difference. Together, we can create a safer, more equitable world for everyone.

To commemorate the 100 year Anniversary of Armistice in 11/11/2018 many Carlyle Gardens residents hand crafted (crocheted & knitted) over 4,000 red poppies which helped create this awesome art work.
A few weeks ago the Townsville RSL adopted our River of Poppies
and have installed them wonderfully at their facility on Charters Towers Road.
Many thanks goes to Helene James from the Townsville City Council. As the Community Liaison she instigated the initial meeting between us (CG crafters) and the RSL.
We are so proud of this amazing contribution our little community has provided to all who visit the RSL.
Congratulations 🥳 to all involved.
PS Visit the RSL before 20/12/2024 while the poppies are on display.
PPS Denise Wilson was away when Karen & Mez visited the RSL last Tuesday.
