From Townsville to Magnetic Island, Magnetic island Ferries provide car and passenger ferry services with seven return trips a day, 365 days a year. Queensland owned and operated by the Campbell family, Magnetic Island Ferries is a subsidiary of the Australian marine specialist group, Riverside Marine, which was founded in 1926.

⚡️🚗Yes - EV vehicles' can travel on our ferries.✔️
We understand the importance of sustainable transportation options and are committed to supporting them.
At Magnetic Island Ferries, our top priority is ensuring a safe and secure journey for all passengers and crew members. As part of our commitment to safety, we want to inform you about the specific loading procedure for electric powered vehicles (EVs) and hybrids.

⚠️Safety Concerns: Electric and hybrid vehicles come with unique safety considerations due to their power sources. To transport these vehicles in the safest manner possible, we have implemented a specific loading process. Part of this process unfortunately means these vehicles will not be able to park in the shade of the wheelhouse. We encourage you to take advantage of the upper-deck areas, providing shade, and air-conditioning comfort.

🥰Your Cooperation Matters: We kindly request your support and cooperation as we navigate this new procedure.
When boarding, please follow the instructions provided by our vessel crew and staff. By working together, we can ensure a smooth and secure experience for everyone

🌊🏝 Meet Maggie – Unlocking the Secrets, Sharing the Magic! 🌟
Join us as we explore the hidden gems, natural wonders, and unique wildlife of Magnetic Island! 🦜🌿

Did you know? Magnetic Island is home to:
🌿 Nearly 200 bird species, including the vulnerable Beach Stone-Curlew, the rare Black-Necked Stork, and the endangered Little Tern.
🦘 19 terrestrial mammals, such as the Allied Rock-Wallaby, Koala, and a vulnerable species of microbat.
🦎 34 reptile species, including the rare Magnetic Island Dwarf Skink, found only on Magnetic Island.
🐸 13 amphibian species.

🌏 22 species of plants and animals are listed as endangered, rare, or vulnerable under Queensland’s conservation laws.

Attention passengers!

Magnetic Island Ferries have resumed services today. Today's schedule is as follows.
Depart Townsville 7:00am, 9:00am, 11:00am, 1:00pm, 3:00pm and 5:00pm.
Depart Magnetic Island 8:00am, 10:00am, 12:00pm, 2:00pm, 4:00pm and 6:00pm.

Currently, services will then return to regular scheduling as of tomorrow, 4th February.

The safety of our passengers and crew continues to be our top priority.
Magnetic Island Ferries is closely monitoring weather reports.
