Today's departees are finally off on their European Adventure. These young ladies are using some Covid credits they had left from a couple of years so this is a bit of a take 2 holiday. Thankfully this time they will actually be able to leave the country.

Their first Adventure is operated by Top Deck and it's the the 27 day Big European Tour. In between tours they have extended their time in Amsterdam to ensure they get to visit Anne Franks House. These tickets are a bit like trying to get Taylor Swift tickets (which I missed out on) but I managed to secure 2 tickets on the day we needed so it was internal high 5's in the office that night!! From Anne Frank it's off to Athens to start tour number 2 - Contiki's Athens to Santorini Island Hopping.

Today's departees are attempting to go and explore Turkey for the 4th time. Civil unrest, Covid and life has delayed this departure 3 times previously.

They are experiencing Turkish Airlines who now fly from Melbourne to Istanbul with a quick stopover in Kuala Lumpur. I will be interested in their feedback on this long haul flight.

Whilst in Turkey they'll be visiting Istanbul, Anzac Cove, Troy, Cappadocia and swimming in the crystal clear waters of Kas on the Mediterranean coast. Amongst this they'll eat their way around tasting all the delicious traditional Turkish foods and that does not include chocolate coated Turkish delight wrapped in a pretty pink packet.

Today's departee is off to the MTA Conference in Fiji. This is the first conference post you know what - that C word if you don't know what I mean. Along with the conference I will spend 2 days training and meeting with suppliers.

I finally got the 1a seat, maybe not the 1a seat on an airline I'd prefer but I do love a bit of extra legroom. This trip I've downloaded some podcasts and going to stick my nose in this book and be very anti social on the flight. I remember hearing Rosie's first interview after her son was murdered and was blown away by how strong, resilient and courageous she was then and still is now. And not to mention by best friend wrote this book

It's another girls week away in Bali for todays departees. These ladies stayed at the Holiday Inn Melbourne Airport last night as they have a very early departure today. The complimentary shuttle can take you to the departure terminal or you can stretch your legs and walk through the car park.

They will be enjoying their week at the Legian Beach Hotel where they are planning a flop and drop holiday. This post is a bit out of character for what I would normally post but for those of you who's passport is expiry soon, this information may be relevant to you. Wednesday's budget did highlight the following for travelers.

What does the 2024 Budget mean for Travel ?
One of the notables was the announcements that there will be the new fast-track system for passport applications. From July, applications can be processed within five business days for a $100 fee. This is an appealing option for travelers wanting greater certainty over when they will receive their passport but who don’t need a two-day turnaround, which currently costs $252.

If your passport is expiring this year and remember the 6 month validity rule when travelling because on July 1st all passport fees will increase by 15%, so if you are looking to renew your passport this year you should do so before 1 July. Don't leave it to the last minute as I'm sure people will be taking advantage of the current pricing.

Today's departees are off to a very special graduation ceremony in America. A quick stopover in Texas at Dallas/Fort Worth and then it's off to Miami and back via Hawaii for a quick bit of warmth before heading home.

It's Girls Week Away for today's early morning departees. How good is it when you can meet your bestie from interstate in Bali and your flights arrive within 20 minutes of each other. No hanging around at the airport waiting for each other and you'll be enjoying a cocktail by the pool by lunchtime.

Our lucky ladies will be spending time at the Oberoi in Seminyak while they get their shopping and pre booked spa treatments all done. From Seminyak they head to Uluwatu to the Ulu Cliffhouse where they will enjoy ocean views and chill time by the pool with a cocktail or 2.

Todays departees are heading 'home' to the UK for a visit to family and friends. They are trying something new this trip and flying business with Cathay Pacific instead of the other airlines they would normal fly with.

Taking time out from friends and family they will board the Eurostar for a quick visit to Paris. Travelling from London to Paris is simple, smart, and speedy. Go direct from city centre to city centre in just 2hrs 16mins, with no luggage limits, liquid restrictions or hanging around baggage carousels hoping your luggage arrives. Wherever you sit, you can email, tweet and post all the way with free onboard wi-fi. There is also power sockets at your seat, so you can stay charged up while you relax.

The main reason for the quick trip 36 hour visit to Paris is to tick off a bucket list item for one of the travelers. They will be taking a day trip from Paris to Versailles Palace and Gardens before returning to London that night. Amazing what can be achieved with a reliable transport network and countries being so close to each other in Europe.

Today's departee's are doing a take 2 at an attempted departure after a 24hr delay yesterday. They are heading to the beautiful Philippines where they will visit Boracay, Cebu City and Bohol. Unfortunately they miss their overnight stop in Manilla but thankfully they can get to Boracay today as planned.

Today's departee is heading away from the chilly Victorian weather to the sunny Gold Coast to visit family. Our departee is super nervous as it's the first solo trip and they are a very nervous flyer anyway. I know they arrived at the airport last night and I can see the flight has departed so I like to assume that they boarded the flight and are nearly ready to disembark at sunny Coolangatta. Fingers crossed they relaxed on the flight and hopefully this is the start of some more independent travel.

There's a couple of special days that will be celebrated - one is going to have a very long birthday as she is travelling back in time today. It's Time to Travel

Hello and thanks for checking in here. I’ve been very quiet on my social pages lately so here’s an update for you on what’s happening. As you know Covid hit the travel industry with full force and mine, along with so many other businesses were severely impacted. Recently I have been dabbling in a few bookings here and there and it has reignited my passion for an industry that I truly love being involved in. I have felt over the last few weeks that I am unable to provide the level of customer service I want to by only working in the business 1 full day per week and after 4pm each day. So as of Tuesday March 15th, I will be working to rebuild my little travel business on a full-time basis. I will be available for appointments during the day – either at my office, your office, a café, Zoom or Teams. BUSINESS UPDATE…………… Many of you will notice that things have been a bit quiet on this page recently. 2020 was a tough year for all, especially those of us in the travel industry. Just before Christmas Travel Counsellors announced they were exiting the Australian market which left me without a franchise and the ability to operate in an industry that for some reason I have a weird and wonderful passion for. I spent several weeks re-evaluating my future and whether my future was going to be in the travel industry or was I going to explore other employment options. My passion for Travel won out and after discussions with several companies I have decided that my business will now be operating under the banner of Australian owned MTA – Mobile Travel Agents. MTA have been in operation for over 20 years and deal solely with mobile/home based agents, so they know their stuff. I have access to all the wholesalers/airlines/cruise lines that I did at Travel Counsellors, but now I will also have access to amazing offers through Virtuoso. Virtuoso membership is by invitation and only offered to the top agencies worldwide and MTA have been members for over 10years.
