Our first day trip for 2025, was heading out on the heritage listed ferry, The Wangi Queen.
At 122 yrs of age, she still works like a gem!
With a full coach of happy travellers from OldBar travel club, we made our way to Karuah Jetty where we shared a lovely morning tea together before boarding the boat for a 21/2 hr informative Ferry ride with a two course BBQ lunch.
We have two more full trips on the Wangi next week and we are looking forward to sharing this lovely day with you all.

Just a friendly reminder that our first travel club meeting for 2025 is tomorrow 11th Feb at the Tuncurry Bowling Club. Doors strictly do not open until 10:00am. Meeting starts at 10:30am

The Old Bar Travel club meeting will be held at 1:30pm at Club Old bar.

We will have a new day trip for April and two new 2 night getaways to release. First in best dressed!

The last day of our 2 night getaway in the Upper Hunter ended with a trip to Hunterbelle Cheese to stock up the fridge then lastly to the Farmers Wife Distillery for a beautiful lunch. This has been a great little getaway and a great way to start the new year of travel. Day 2 of our Upper Hunter Tour had us heading in to horse country at beautiful Scone. With Craig Benjamin as our knowledgeable guide for the whole day, he took us on an excusive tour to Godolphin thoroughbred horse stud.... What an amazing complex!!
We also visited Pays Warbird musuem, Glenbawn Dam, Aberdeen Pub for lunch, Pukara Olive farm and the racecourse. This was a fantastic day full of really interesting history and horse culture.

We are back on the road and our first tour for 2025 is our 2 night Upper Hunter experience.
Today we followed the roads less travelled, making our way to the Historic Village of Wollombi. On arrival we enjoyed a beautiful morning tea in the park before heading to Mulla Villa Homestead which was the original magistrates home built in the 1840s. Here we viewed the original convict holding rooms that were under the house. Back in the village, we stopped in at the museum (originally the courthouse) to get some more indepth history of the town. Lunch was enjoyed at none other than the Wollombi Tavern, home of Dr Jurds jungle juice.
To end the day we followed Paynes Crossing all the way into Broke for a memorable wine tasting experience at Winmark Wines of their best Chardonnay range.
But to top it off, we settled into our accomodation in Musswellbrook, with a glass of bubbles on arrival and a beautiful 2 course dinner.

Day 5 and 6 all in one.
The heavens opened up again as we headed up the mountain and through the Blackall Ranges on day 5. We braved the weather to peruse the township of Montville and found retreat at one of the lovely coffee shops in town.
Heading back down the mountain we visited Melany at the Mary Cairncross Rainforest centre but unfortunately due to the weather, we were unable to witness the beautiful views over the Glasshouse Mountains.
We ended the day at Melany Cheese with some delicious cheese boards.
Day 6 and the rain started to ease up and just in time for us to enjoy a cruise down the Tweed river. Before our Minjungbal cultural cruise, we feasted on Native Australian ingredients with a 2 course lunch at the Tweed Golf club, before disembarking on a 2.5hr guided cultural cruise.
The sun even came out!!!
Yatala pies was also a big hit for morning tea.
Our final night was spent at Peppers at Salt Kingscliff.
Tomorrow we head home with a 1 hr guided tour of grafton and freetime in town.
