Tungamah Silo Art by Sobrane in the small Victorian rural town in Moira Shire.
Location: Cnr Station Street and Middleton Street, Tungamah

In February 2018, Sobrane painted two dancing brolgas on the front of the concrete silos and one on the back. At the same time, Sobrane also painted a Kookaburra on the steel silo. (First and last picture shown).
These privately owned silos were the first silos painted in North East Victoria, which soon became the North East Silo Art Trail
In October 2019, Sobrane returned to add more colourful birds and flora to the steel silo. These include Blue Superb Fairy Wrens, Galah, Cockatoo, Sacred Kingfisher, Ibis, Billy Button Wildflowers, Gum Blossoms and Leaves.

HISTORY OF THE SILOS
The Tungamah Railway Station goods sheds and portable building opened in 1886, which coincided with the railway opening between St James via Tungamah to Yarrawonga on the S May the same year.
It was 1889 before the main station was erected which was followed by a more substantial grain shed in 1890. At its peak, 60,000 bags of wheat were delivered to the station in a normal harvest.

In 1944, the concrete silos were erected by the railways construction branch of the Board of Land and Works, for the receival and transport of grain by the Grain Elevators Board. It was one of 58 railway stations that had been tendered for silos, at a cost of 289,497 pounds ($401m in 2016 value). This increased the holding capacity of Victorian wheat silos from 13,020,000 bushels to 18,668,000 bushels. The Tungamah concrete silo became inadequate to cope with the influx of grain in times of good crops so the steel silo was later added.

The position of Station Master in Tungamah lasted 93 years. When it was abolished in 1978, the passenger building and platform were demolished, leaving just the silos. Today the Silos are privately owned and operated by the Cooper Family. The concrete silo holds 2500 ton of wheat, the shed another 3000 ton and the steel silo another 2000 ton.

Glenrowan is well known for the iron-clad outlaw, Ned Kelly, and his fearless band of brothers Dan Kelly, Steve Hart and Joe Burns. According to this nominee, more books have been written in Australia about this subject than any other throughout our history. ๐Ÿ˜ฎ
This mural on Kateโ€™s Cottage & The Ned Kelly Museum Glenrowan depicts the bloody battle from the stopping of the train by Thomas Curnow to the shootout with the police at the Anne Jones Inn. No other mural has depicted this scene in its entirety before, and now it's been brought to life by

{Mansfield Shire Street and Public Art}

Mansfield has an interesting mix of street art and sculptures (mainly along High Street). There are two murals by DVATE, murals by Heesco, Tim Bowtell and Alex Sugar, ceramic artworks inspired by High Country Huts, Indigenous artwork and artefacts and a 3D mural.

Willans Hill Water Tank Art

Great Photo by Karin Watts

Artist: Poncho Army

Location: Turvey Park, Willans Hill, Wagga Wagga, New South Wales

Trina Collins, aka Poncho Army, painted the Willans Hill water tank mural in Wagga
Wagga over 2.5 weeks in June 2016 using Montana Black spray paints.

The mural is all about water, but more specifically the actual use and function of
the water tank and to represent that Riverina Water is safe water to use unfiltered. The
children depicted in the mural are Sturt Public School students.

Drinking straight from the tap has a sense of nostalgia for adults. They need water to
survive, not glasses, cups or plastic bottles. The childrenโ€™s hands represent community
and working together.

This project was a partnership between Riverina Water County Council and Wagga
Wagga City Council. The route up Captain Cook Drive to Turvey
Park is very steep, so we suggest you leave your caravan behind.
