Fun fact: Male and female Australian Darters have distinct color differences! These incredible birds are famous for their deep dives while hunting, though they don't have waterproof feathers. After fishing, you'll often see them drying their wings in the sun. Truly a marvel of nature! 🌾

Our Story

Growing up in a fishing family in Victoria, I moved to the Tweed and married a local and adjusted my fishing techniques from the cold water catches of Victoria to the warm water fishing & hunting Mud Crab! Tweed is our home, we have 2 acres, which we have our fruit trees, chickens, and kids all roaming free range! Living here is a great balance between the river, Mt Warning, and the beaches, and to be honest we cannot see us living anywhere else! (which may be biased because I haven’t see all of Australia or the world). Our business we bought in 1997, starting out with one boat and 2 crew, we now have 3 boats, 15 staff, (I should say 4 boats we have a tiny BBQ boat)! 15 brilliant staff – who are collective mix of locals, who come from different backgrounds, the Navy, Police force, Trawler fishermen, divers, and a Englishman! Locals who genuinely want to work in one of the best offices in the region the Tweed River! You will see me in the office giving orders (which no one listens to...” Scott can you hear me, this now needs fixing!!”) I think that selective hearing is world wide between husband and wives, it’s not just a local thing? (I hope)! As I said I haven’t seen all the world! Come and meet us – try our catch! We do have the stories about the one that got away! So, we have the boys at Scales Seafood Shop to back us up if we run short on our catch! We use 95% local produce, (this includes our fruit from our backyard)! We source local seafood and produce, because as I say we haven’t travelled everywhere, but a local harvest of seafood and produce is always best and supports the community!
