Umina Beach House is reflecting the change in place and scope by changing its name to Koru Beach House. Despite owning the domain, page and registered business name there are a number of places calling themselves by the Umina Beach House name and there are none of them we want to be confused with. The koru pays homage to one of the owner's country of birth. The koru is a traditional Māori symbol representing the unfurling frond of the silver fern. It is a powerful symbol representing new life, growth, strength and peace. Its inspiration from the green of the bush and its wave like character hint at the meeting of the bush and the sea that is the essence of Koru Beach House.
