To Explore and Protect
“Go Diving” started in Spain as “Go Diving Spain” by John Shah . Who then returned to live in Australia in 2009 with the intention to continue teach diving and secure a liveaboard dive charter yacht. Initially the project was to support John’s obsession to explore. By 2019 the focus has changed to education and protection of our oceans and its marine life. Go Diving’s mission focus now is take recreational divers on no touch no take tours of our little known but world class reefs of Western Australia and support marine science projects to perform their work. Now on our second yacht major project in 10 years, the current yacht is currently going through survey and rushing to launch in 2021. The ocean are changing for the worse so quickly we need to get out there and see corals and fish species while they still exists. Hopefully each person who goes and sees for her or himself will tell others and we can all contribute to change. The yacht: purpose built in the early 80s as an expedition dive yacht it has never been launched. She’s 18 m (60 feet) 41 ton (50 when loaded) features bilge keels to stand-up on her own as she was originally intended to first sail to the Kimberly’s then onto Fiji wreck hunting (it was the 80s). She as well features an Observation Bulbous Bow with 3 underwater viewing ports, the bow was hydrostatically tested as a potential re-compression chamber to.
