Gang-gang:// gregarious and charismatic migratory cockatoo found in the mountains and coastal areas of south east Australia. We are a husband and wife team, who have worked and played in the Snowy Mountains and on the Sapphire Coast of New South Wales, since last century! We love where we live, so we decided to combine our life experience, with our passion for travel, nature the outdoors, to devel

op tours designed to showcase the best that the region has to offer! Here's a quick bio of us:

Janine has lived and worked in tourist towns for all of her adult life and has always worked in tourism, hospitality or customer service. She has been a tour guide in Queensland, British Columbia Canada, and Kosciuszko National Park. She also managed tourist accommodation for ten years. Janine has a degree in Recreation and Leisure Studies and is qualified in Remote Area First Aid. Jeff is a carpenter and mountain guide, and was a wintering carpenter and expeditioner in Antarctica in 2003. He also spent several years hiking and touring in the Canadian Rockies and West Coast Mountains of British Columbia, and is qualified in Remote Area First Aid. So take advantage of our knowledge of our own backyard and come with us on a Gang Gang Tour. Let us show you the secrets of this amazing part of the country that is largely undiscovered. Some places we will take you are so secret, that we can’t even mention them here! Gang Gang Tours Australia

Our Mystery Tour to Brisbane was a roaring success, full of sunshine and surprises! A botanic gardens tour, the (ferris) Wheel of Brisbane, a night time ghost and crime tour, a cruise to lunch and dinner under the spectacular Storey Bridge. Our guests certainly got into the spirit of things with masquerade masks to surprise us (!) and Yvonne even volunteered to tap the keg at the Breakfast Creek Hotel! It was a great getaway from a Canberra winter, and we're already planning next year's warm and welcoming mystery tour! Who's game?!

It was definitely bright and sparkly, glitzy and glamourous! Our Vivid Sydney tours were quite the experience with a sunset harbour dinner cruise, a trip up the Parramatta River, and a tour of the Opera House. The consensus seems to be that the highlight was dinner at the Opera House while watching the Harbour Bridge light up. Just fabulous. We're having a wee hiatus now, but will see our guests again soon for our Mystery Tour, then Sapphire Coast. We still have a few seats available on our Zig Zag Railway Tour and our Snowy Mountains Tour. So get in touch if you need another getaway!

Well, Autumn was upon us and we thought we would head into the Victorian High Country (twice!) to enjoy the spectacular Autumn colours in Bright and all that the surrounding high country has to offer. Our 5 day tour also took us 'over the top' on the Great Alpine Road past Mt Hotham which was just magnificent. Considering our fondness for the Snowy River, we also stayed a night in Marlo at the mouth of the Snowy. We will be running a 6 day Victorian High Country tour next year on 1 May, so please get in touch if you would like to join us.

Well it had been a long time between drinks - 3 months between tours - so we were quite excited to get back on the road again with our lovely guests! We kicked off the year with a short but sweet 3 day Zig Zag Railway Lithgow tour. A ride on the Zig Zag Railway, a visit to Eskbank House and the Small Arms Factory, Portland painted silos and some drinks and nibbles at the Gang Gang Gallery.

We are running this tour again on 25 October, so if you're interested, we'd love to hear from you.

So now we're pumped for Lord Howe Island next week, then lots more fun touring this year and into next.... We hope to see you on board soon..

We visited ten gardens in five days, with the highlight being the spectacular private gardens of Windyridge Garden and Nooroo Garden Mount Wilson, NSW at Mt Wilson in the Blue Mountains. Hello everyone out there in Facebook world! We are a little bit late, but we wanted to share a couple of snaps from our most recent tour - Xmas in July. It was a smashing four days of beautiful countryside, Spanish feasting, the spectacular Blue Mountains and traditional Christmas fare. A great time was had by all, as was attested to by the extra cm or so on our waistlines!!

On May 15 it was time for our third African Safari! Our 5 day Dubbo and Central West tour included stays in Canowindra and Orange, with the highlight being a two night stay in an Animal View 'cabin' (very posh glamping tent!) at Dubbo Western Plains Zoo. It was an action-packed tour with visits to Cowra Japanese Gardens, The Dish in Parkes, the fabulous Tommy Jeffs' in Canownindra, Mt Panorama in Bathurst, the Royal Flying Doctor Service and of course extensive tours (many behind-the-scenes) of the zoo. Too many awesome experiences to list here!

And then in April, we went on our first ever Mystery Tour! Jeff and I had a great time, as we didn't tell our guests anything at all about where they were going each day! Every day was a surprise, and our guests thoroughly enjoyed the beautiful Sapphire Coast NSW. Spectacular Tathra Beach, Green Cape Lightstation, Eden, Merimbula, and Captain Sponge's Magical Oyster Tour on Pambula Lake?! This itinerary is now our Sapphire Coast Tour which is scheduled for September next year in whale watching season, and there are still seats left!

Hello everyone out there in Facebook world! We know we haven't shared much with you here on FB lately, but we have just been SO busy running fabulous tours around the country!

We wanted to start today with letting you know about a bespoke 3 day tour that we did to Nowra in February. We had 14 fit and gorgeous seniors who enjoyed some great walks on Beecroft Headland near Currarong, and at Fitzroy Falls in Morton National Park in the Southern Highlands. We also experienced the fabulous Bundanon Homestead and Art Gallery near Nowra.

Happy New Year to all you Gang Gang Groovers out there! We hope that 2023 is a happy and healthy one for you and your family. In November 2021 we ran our first B.E.S.T. tour- Beechworth Echuca Silo art Trail. It was such a success, that we ran our 2nd B.E.S.T. tour in March 2022. Last month we ran our first W.O.R.S.T. - Well Organised Recreational Scenic Tour. There were so many different experiences in this 5 day tour - Hunter Valley Gardens Christmas Lights, glamping at the Port Stephens Koala Sanctuary, dolphin spotting with Moonshadow - TQC Cruises and The Riverboat Postman on the Hawkesbury River - that we didn't know what to call it. Mr Gang quite cleverly came up with the W.O.R.S.T. and it was so successful that we are running our 2nd W.O.R.S.T. in December 2023! There are still seats left, so click on the link below to find out more, and check out our other tours in 2023 while you are there..... We hope to welcome you on board soon!

Well, you've been on the B.E.S.T., now come on the W.O.R.S.T. - Well Organised Recreational Scenic Tour! On the last day of our W.O.R.S.T. (Well Organised Recreational Scenic Tour), which turned out to be not so terrible after all (!), we had a long drive ahead of us, so Jeff decided to train up one of our guests as his assistant driver! We then enjoyed delivering the mail with The Riverboat Postman on the Hawkesbury River out of Brooklyn, before heading home for drop-offs and farewells.

On Day 4 of our W.O.R.S.T. (Well Organised Recreational Scenic Tour), after our private tour of the koala sanctuary, we enjoyed a dolphin watching cruise on Port Stephens with Moonshadow - TQC Cruises. We then had lunch at the spectacular CREST Birubi Beach overlooking Stockton Beach before a cruise south along the Central Coast to Terrigal Haven.

On Day 3 of our W.O.R.S.T. (Well Organised Recreational Scenic Tour), we headed east via Kurri Kurri to Port Stephens. We had a Kookaburra in Kurri Kurri followed by Cookabarra for lunch! We then checked in to our glamping tents at the amazing Port Stephens Koala Sanctuary. What a wonderful experience that was! A skywalk through the trees to see the patients of the hospital and a private tour the next morning before the sanctuary opened to the public. Dinner was at the sublime Shoal Bay Country Club.

🌷 DISCOVERY OF GANG GANG COCKATOO GIVES HOPE FOR SPECIES RECOVERY 🌷

A central west WIRES volunteer is ending the year on a positive note, with the impending release of a gang gang cockatoo after he was nursed back to health.

The adult male has been nicknamed 'Creaky', as his call sounds like an old door.

He was found at Duckmaloi, near Oberon, by a member of the public.

While not obviously hurt, it was later discovered he had a dislocated toe, affecting his ability to eat and fly.

Volunteer Christie Jarrett has been caring for him for several weeks, she says the threatened species were hit hard by the bushfires.

"We were really worried that we wouldn't see them again in the central west that often, because the fires had destroyed so much of that beautiful habitat, so it's a really positive sign that we've seen some come back through."
