We’re all familiar with mulled wine, but what about hot mulled cider? No? Well here’s a recipe to get your juices mulling…🍏🍊🪵

Ingredients:
4 liters apple cider
1 orange (thinly sliced)
2-3 cinnamon sticks
1 tbs whole cloves
1 tbs whole allspice
1 tbs whole star anise
50 grams brown sugar (optional, adjust to taste)
1-2 tsp freshly grated nutmeg
1 tsp vanilla extract (optional)
15-30 ml brandy or rum per serving (optional)

Instructions:

1. Combine Ingredients
- In a big pot, pour in the apple cider.
- Add the orange slices, cinnamon sticks, cloves, allspice, and star anise.
- Stir in the brown sugar.

2. Heat
- Place the pot over medium heat and bring to a simmer. Don’t boil!
- Reduce the heat to low and let it simmer for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavours to blend. You can simmer it for up to 2 hours for a stronger flavour.

3. Add Fancy Final Touches
- If using, stir in the vanilla extract.
- Ladle the hot cider into mugs and add a splash of brandy or rum to each serving.

4. Serve, drink and enjoy! 🍻🔥 NB: Tastes best when shared with friends around a toasty fire.

Throwing back to the weekend that was TrailGraze 2024 - Celebrations kicked off this year with the inaugural TrailGraze Dinner held at

We gathered in the apple orchards, feasted on a menu of North and North West Tasmanian produce, toasted to the weekend with wine, beer and spirits from local makers, and got the TrailGraze event off to its most delicious start yet.

A huge thanks to the guests who celebrated with us, the Tasting Trail producers who made the menu and drinks list so special, and our TrailGraze Dinner major sponsors.
