What does a day trip to the Gold Coast look like from Brisbane for international tourists?

- Catch the train to Helensvale Station $0.50cents
- Then catch the tram to Surfers Paradise. Walk along Cavill Avenue to the beach, enjoy a swim in the ocean.
- Explore the shops in Surfers Paradise, explore the shops in Paradise Centre.
- Book a 1 hour tour on the Aquaduck. https://www.aquaduck.com.au/gold-coast/
- Enjoy lunch at the many restaurants over looking the beach perhaps or take an Uber down the road to the Northcliffe Surf Life Saving Club and have lunch there.
Around 3pm catch the tram back to Helensvale Station.
- Then catch an Uber to Coombabah Lake Conservation Park. Get the driver to take you all the way inside past the gates to where the public park and the Koala Tracks go north. It is about 1.5km in. It is not the first tracks you come to. Then follow the tracks north and you will see many kanagaroos. Check the gum trees for Koala's.
- Then catch an Uber to Helensvale Station.
- Then catch a train back to Brisbane
- Choose one of the amazing restaurants to have dinner in Brisbane at https://howardsmithwharves.com/ Check the reviews to find the best restaurant that suits.
- Perhaps visit a whisky speak easy bar in Fortitude Valley to finish off the night. Always sit at the bar so that you can chat with the bar tender. They love a chat.

North Stradbroke Island - What's a day out look like on Straddie.

- Catch the train to Cleveland for $0.50cents.
- Then grab an Uber or walk to the Straddie Flyer ferry service which takes you to Dunwich, North Stradbroke Island. www.flyer.com.au
- Once you arrive on Straddie take the local bus to Point Lookout. It leaves from the bus stop out the front of the ferry service.
- Take the North Gorge Walk and see the beautiful seashore views. You might see turtles or dolphins in the water, whales during the season, ocean birds and native animals.
- Visit the local shops
- have brunch or lunch at the local shops. Our favourite is the Blue Room Cafe.
- See the local kangaroos around North Gorge Walk. They are reasonably friendly but give them respect.
- Then head to Cylinder Beach for a swim. You can walk along the beach at low tide or walk along the roadside or catch the bus. One of the most beautiful beach swims in Queensland.
- Then catch the bus to Amity Point. You can find koala's living in the trees in the wild in Sovereign Road and Ellis Street and other streets. Nature is not always on location but hopefully you see one. Ask the locals for advice.
- If you are there late afternoon, just before sun goes down the dolphins regularly visit the boat ramp and jetty at Amity Point. Buy some fish and chips from the restaurant nearby and watch the sunset over the ocean. Hopefully a few dolphins also turn up.
Then board the bus back to the ferry at Dunwich.

Brown lake is also a great spot for a fresh water swim if you can get there. There is no public transport to Brown Lake.

This is a very special experience for those traveling to the Tamworth Festival this week when we plan to catch up and attend the incredible song writer performer himself, Andrew Farriss, at an up close and personal full band performance. Last year was a standing ovation. Andrew co-wrote and performed many INXS songs as well as being a classic country music performer these days. Share in his new country songs and he usually plays some INXS classics. This is one concert that should not be missed.
