Wow, what a lightning display out at Leigh Creek last night. For all of the family members and friends following us here on Facebook, we have arrived safely at Wilpena Pound Resort. We had no power last night and cereal plus Vegemite sandwiches were served for dinner. When you are out here you have to be inventive and after a delicous lunch at the Prairie Hotel a cereal dinner is now something to remember. 😆 The adventure continued today with many roads in Outback SA and the Flinders flooded. Even the main road to Hawker was closed for a while. Tonight, we had a beautiful warm dinner at the resort and are looking forward to a sunny day filled with activities tomorrow.

We had two fabulous nights at Arkaroola Wilderness Sanctuary. Amazing views on the Ridgetop Tour, superb wildlife and flora, nightly stargazing and the sunrise for the early birds is so rewarding. The optional scenic flight is a real treat for those who love flying. Never boring on our trips. 😊😎

What a stunning colour display on our current Lake Eyre Channel Country Tour. Our flight path includes the Tirari Desert, Strzelecki Track, Lake Eyre, the Coongie Lakes, Goyder Lagoon, Outback stations, and of course a landing in Innamincka and overnight stay in Birdsville. After lunch we continue our road journey to Coober Pedy.

Our Arkaroola tour started off a little wet but the weather has improved every day. Much needed rain for the northern Flinders Ranges. We spent 1 night at the iconic Prairie Hotel and then 3 nights out at Arkaroola allowing lots of time for fabulous activities. The Ridgetop Tour, Sunset Canapés up Coulthard’s Lookout, a great evening Cosmos show and an all day 4WD experience deeper into less known parts of Arkaroola. We had time for walks, scenic flights and eating delicious food. All enjoyed by 12 wonderful passengers and Guide Rita. What a trip! Final night at Leigh Creek tonight.

24 travellers joined us for a trip to Coober Pedy and Lake Eyre this week. The days fly when you experience something new every day. Left on Tuesday and here we are back again in Adelaide today. A two thousand kilometre round trip not counting the fabulous kilometres travelled in the air. Fantastic tour with a great bunch of travellers from interstate and overseas. Coming all the way from Canada seeing our iconic outback country. Have a safe journey home everyone!

While one group is exploring the Eyre Peninsula this group is witnessing the wonders of the Flinders Ranges. Incredible scenery, flora, fauna, fossils and culture.
Tonight we are staying at Wilpena Pound Resort, from where our walk will be leaving in the morning. Our program: Hills Homestead Walk and Wangara Lookout, Lunch, Bunyeroo Gorge and Razorback Lookout, Kanyaka Ruins and Quorn. Fabulous day ahead.

We have travelled several hundreds of kilometres since we last posted. A trip out to the Head of Bight was rewarded by seeing 20-30 whales in the bay. Currently 120 whales in the area, but of course not every whale shows up when we would like them too. 😄 Mother nature prevented us from travelling out on the boat at Fowlers Bay. The boat was discovered on the beach in the morning instead of in the water. Sadly, it took all day fixing the boat. Still had a fabulous trip to Fowlers and exploring the scenery on land. Today we are travelling inland to beautiful rock formations on the outskirts of the Gawler Ranges.

Plates are being polished clean at Del Giorno's Cafe Restaurant in Port Lincoln and our lunch at The Fresh Fish Place was fabulous. Today we have travelled to Elliston, Talia Caves, Port Kenny, Murphy Haystacks and Ceduna. The executive ocean-view balcony rooms assure us a very comfy 3-night stay.

Scarlett - Gone with the wind!
Literally gone with the wind today; quite a blast at Coffin Bay. Despite the crazy winds we had a fabulous time at Oyster Farm Tours - Coffin Bay. Just getting into the waders is an experience on its own, and suckling on a fresh 5-star Oyster is a real treat. Lunch is amazing and a must do when in Coffin Bay. So is dining at Line & Label Restaurant at Peter Teakle Wines . Fabulous venue, lovely staff and great fine foods. Nothing ordinary here. Happy Sunday everyone and Happy Fathers Day to all the Dad's out there.

Stunning and Iconic 6 Day Adventure to Outback SA and Birdsville. The list of highlights is long and you simply have to come to see and experience it. The wildflowers are out and we even saw Brolgas. Still so much water around and flora and fauna are thriving. Last week's tour is sure to be one to remember. Happy Friday and Happy Travelling everyone!
