We can all do our part to look after our natural spaces while enjoying our environment by not spreading harmful pathogens. 💚

Phytophthora cinnamomi (known as Phytophthora dieback or dieback) is a pathogen that attacks the roots of plants causing them to rot. This impacts how the tree takes up water & nutrients causing the plant to wilt, lose colour & die.

Dieback impacts 40% of native WA species & can be quickly spread by humans to affect entire bushland areas. It can also impact fruit & decorative trees in your garden. 🍊🌸

Help stop the spread of dieback by:
👟 Cleaning footwear, vehicles & tools when arriving or leaving bushland areas
🛑 Following signage in bushlands including restricted areas, following trails & boot-washing stations
🌱 Ask for dieback-free materials including soil, gravel, potting mix, mulch & plants
🗑️ Dispose of garden waste carefully (particularly if you think it may be infested)

Cittaslow Goolwa do a whole lot more in our community than run our fantastic market. Head down to Arthur Neighbour Reserve on Friday from 5-8 for Cittalsow’s At The Wharf music event. This is a free event featuring local band The River Rats, a volunteer staffed bar and food trucks. The weather is predicted to be 30 degrees on Friday so we’d love to see the community get behind this event. The Arthur Neighbour Reserve is behind the Goolwa Hotel. All ages welcome. Sorry, no byo. Drinks available at affordable prices.
