Both ferry and barge services have been suspended due to gale force winds. Services will resume as soon as safe to do so.

Please see the below timetable for this weekend Saturday 28th & Sunday 29th of October for the barge service to and from Coochiemudlo island. This timetable includes extra runs to the barge service. The times in red are the departure times for the barge on the existing passenger ferry schudule.

⚠️Severe weather warning ⚠️

All services may be impacted on Friday the 27/10/2023.

There is a forecast for a severe weather front coming through Friday 27/10/2023.

South East winds up to 30 knots and some rain is to be expected with fairly big tides, this heavy weather could impact some services on Friday.

We are still operating the temporary time table so if you need to travel bring your raincoat. .

Staff will be on site tomorrow morning and services will be completed if it is safe to do so.

A 25 seater bus is on the deck of the barge for passengers to shelter in.

Please continue to check the website and Facebook for service updates.

Please ensure that you are prepared as the gale force winds can cause damage to properties and avoid any unnecessary travel.

We anticipate that we will be able to complete the early morning runs up to 9.00am and even if the winds are high we hope to be able to complete services around 3.00pm at the low tide with a lesser sea state.

The weather (gale winds) is not looking too good for tomorrow so we suggest if you don’t need to travel to mainland & back then don’t. Cannot guarantee that the barge will be able to continue operating during the peak times of expected wind gusts. Will be a wait and see situation.

COOCHIE 9.40am, 10.20am and 1.20pm

Timetable update for 26/10/2023

Services will run as per the Barge timetable.

As we only have one barge tomorrow (Thursday) could you please try to avoid travelling on the 7.40am and 8.20am service off Coochiemudlo Island as we would like to leave these runs so we can get all of the students and workers off the island on time to meet their connections.

The last barge timetable service will be 4.20pm off Victoria Point after which the barge will follow the ferry timetable with the first ferry timetable service at 5.00pm off Victoria Point.

⚠️ Weather warning for Friday 27/10/23⚠️ :

The weather forecast indicates that there will be very strong winds, rain and big tides on Friday night so if you can avoid travelling it would be advisable.

We are working as quickly as possible to return the ferry to service at this stage the repair is going along well and expect the ferry to be back in service Monday night at 5.00pm.

Passenger ferry service update (25/10/2023)

The walk on passenger ferry is not in operation today (25th October). All walk on passengers please catch the vehicle barge which is running to the vehicle barge timetable until last run at 04:20pm from Vic pt and then the vehicle barge will operate to the passenger ferry timetable this evening, first run from Vic pt at 05:00pm and run through the night until last service from Vic pt at 10:30pm.

The barge will be running the following extra runs:

Victoria point: 09:20am, 10:00am, 01:00pm
Coochie: 09:40am, 10:20am, 01:20pm

UPDATE 24th Oct - Ferry
Unfortunately the parts required to put the ferry back in operation have not yet arrived so the Barge will once again continue to take over the ferry runs from 5.00pm today and again tomorrow Wed 25th.
We do ask unless you are a worker or school student that you try and avoid the 7.40am and the 8.20am runs off Coochie so that school children and workers can get to their destinations on time.

These numbers to include persons in vehicles

It is possible that the ferry may not be up and running on Thursday so the above would apply.

Update
The vehicular barge will commence running from Vic Pt at 4.30 this arvo and will run to the ferry timetable until last service at 10.30pm from Vic Pt.
The barge will run a 5am off coochie Tuesday morning then carry on with normal barge runs.

PASSENGER FERRY currently broken down and unsure when will be up and running again. (other ferry currently out of water)

The vehicular barge will be going back and forth throughout the afternoon.

Will be updating when more info comes in.

For all that are not aware the passenger ferry and vehicular barge will be operating to their respective Monday timetables this coming Monday 2nd October. Refuelling as per normal Monday at 1pm.
