An estimated $12.4 million has been injected into South Australia’s Murray River regions through our River Revival Voucher program.

The voucher program helped provide support to businesses and communities across the Riverland and Murray River, Lakes & Coorong, as they recovered from the once-in-a-century flooding event in the summer of 2022-23.

Analysis of the economic impact data showed that for every dollar of investment across the three rounds more than $5 was returned to the regions – while helping boost awareness of the diverse tourism experiences on offer.

Today we celebrate the mothers and mother figures who have guided us through life and loved us unconditionally.

In early April we welcomed Jamie, Deb and their loved ones to the Cottage. A little note left behind after their stay told us to search the grounds for two gifted items of garden art. So off we went!

It wasn't long before we found the bunny, perfectly positioned in the garden beds overlooking the river. The maggie was much harder to find perched up in the cedar tree.

We are so grateful to our returning guests for their thoughtful gifts and for appreciating the essence of Lake Bywater Cottage.

Lake Bywater Cottage has been carefully curated, both inside and out, to be the perfect place to relax and unwind with family, friends or in the quiet of your own company.

Over the last 3 years, we have thoughtfully landscaped the gardens ensuring that native plants are introduced to entice wildlife and other plants enhance the existing landscape. To reduce dust and to provide additional green space, we recently laid an additional 150m2 of lawn around the fire pit area.

Christmas can be a hard time for many, a busy time for most and can really strain the finances particularly as the cost of living is creating a pinch. So we've decided to give away a 2 night stay at the Cottage, to be taken in 2024.

With the Fire Danger Season starting today in the Murraylands, the use of the fire pit at the Cottage is only available with a permit unless it is a Total Fire Ban day when it cannot be used at all.

Thankfully, if the evening is cold and you still want a fire, there is a combustion fireplace inside. 😊

Did you know that we have a little herb garden at Lake Bywater Cottage for guests to use? There's currently a selection of sage, dill, rosemary, parsley, chives, thyme and oregano. This is just another way that we can provide home comforts to our guests.

Would like to update you on a few things

As of Monday Australia Post will be here at the Riverside Cafe.

All fuel is at the Riverside. We have start to move operations. We still have a lot of things to arrange we ask that you be patient with us as all this takes time.

General Store hours next week will reduce 10 am to 4 pm Monday to Saturday. Sunday will 10 to 2pm

We hope you understand that to chance things so we can sell takeaway grog takes time. If you go to the shop for this and we are closed please ring the number on the notice board and we will come around and open up for you

Happy Labour Day Weekend SA! We hope you’ve enjoyed the glorious weather - we know our current guests have. They’ve shared with us the visits they’ve had from our resident wildlife. We’ve got 3 kookaburras that visit in the afternoons, a family of ducks (those ducklings are the cutest), a Shingleback lizard that suns itself in the morning warmth, a juvenile Magpie-Lark. And they’ve even seen an Australia’s version of the otter - a Rakali.
