📍 Watarrka National Park (Kings Canyon)

Conquered the Kings Canyon hike with Julie and Jen! Different experience for us this year as temperature was much lower and clear sky’s mean’t the views were ever better 👌🙌

Such a mind blowing place with the height and size of the canyon as well as the mars like domes around the edge

We had some pretty special visitors to the heart of Australia ♥️

4 days went way to quickly, but we had the best time getting to show Julie and Jen around Uluru and surrounding Red Centre
So many quality memories made… Uluru, Kata Tjuṯa, Wintjiri Wiru, camping in the red dirt, and seeing moon rise at Uluru are at the top of the list ✨🌕

Thank you for visiting us! We had the best time 💛

Who would have thought there would be so much green in the red centre!

We had a great day exploring palm valley and driving along the Finke River. Very different to the other side of the ranges!

📍 West McDonnell Ranges

Our second time to the West Mac’s was just as good as the first!
When we came through here last year it was quite late in the season, so it was very hot and a lot of the gorges were closed due to bush fires 🔥
We were very happy to get to come back to finish see all the gorges and complete a few big hikes
Really is beautiful country 😍🙌

NT outback pub tour 🍺

Had a great time checking out all of NT quirky pub stops along the Stuart Hwy. So much character and good vibes that I’d be rude not to have a stop for a drink 👌

Kakadu national park, NT 🐊🌅🥾

Our first taste of the Northern Territory was pretty spectacular. Kakadu has such a strong spiritual feeling to it, that really makes you appreciate the culture and the beautiful land
From waterfalls, to crocodiles, to traditional rock art there is so much to see 💛

Noooo noooo no!!!
Please don’t make us leave WA 😭🥹

After spending 6 months in Western Australia, we have officially left the state (with big hesitation and sadness!!)
We can certainly both confirm that the entire west coast has our hearts, so much so that it has been mentioned more than once “maybe we should just turn around” 😜

Until next time WA, now bring on the NT for some top end fun 🙌🐊

Photo inspo from roadtrippingau 👌

📍Kununurra, WA

Our last stop in the WA and the Kimberley region was certainly one to remember. We were very fortunate to be gifted a cruise along the Ord River which was such a beautiful experience
The amount of wildlife along the river was incredible to see, and it was even more beautiful to see so much untouched land along the 55km strip of river that the tour run along
We really appreciated the amount of knowledge the tour guide had about the region and loved getting to learn more about the east Kimberly’s

A massive thank you to Rihannon and Josh for the amazing experience and we had a great weekend hanging out with you both (and cute little Huddy!)
We can’t thank you guys enough 💛

📍 Purnululu National Park
Aka, The Bungle Bungles

Spent the day exploring these 36 million year old rock formations by foot and air 🚁🥾
Incredible to see the size of domes whilst hiking beneath them, and then the extra added bonus of flying above gave a completely different perspective of the expansiveness of them 🤯

unforgettable day 👌

Andddd that’s a wrap on the Gibb River Road!
Hands down our favourite road trip that’s we have done on our travels

We are 100% certain that we will be still recapping memories from this trip when we are 80 😍😂
Big thanks to our friends roadtrippingau for making this trip even better 👌

📍 The Gibb River Road

Day: 13-16

El Questro Station

Such a beautiful slice of paradise to finish the Gibb River road on! Every gorge and walk in this station just took us by the biggest surprise.
Just couldn’t get over how there is beautiful palm trees and so much greenery within dry mountain gorges. So many different contrasts which really is just breathtaking to see…

📍 The Gibb River Road

Day: 11-13

The Pentecost River and Cockburn Ranges ⛰️

We were extremely relieved once we had made it across the Pentecost after having a huge day driving the last 200km of terrible dirt road on the Gibb!
The Pentecost River was such a great free camp on the water, we ended up staying here 3 nights so that we could have a day without driving.
We easily filled our day fishing, painting, and games by the water

P.s. how beautiful are the Cockburn ranges in the background 😍

📍 The Gibb River Road

Day: 7-11

Mitchell Falls, King Edward River, Gibb River Crossing

Massive few days we had exploring this area of the Gibb. Whilst travelling the Gibb people had been telling us plenty of horror stories about the road to Mitchell Falls (~500km detour), which made us very anxious about whether we should worry about going out that way.
Neither the less we made a group decision and figured we were too close not to go check it out!
(Which we were so glad we did!)
We left the caravan at Drysdale Station and spent a couple of nights in the rooftop tent ⛺️
Hike the incredible Mitchell falls and then decided to hike half of it again and get a helicopter ride to really take it all in 😍🚁
Such an unbelievable experience being in such remote an untouched country, it was absolutely breathtaking taking…🙌

Stayed 2 nights at King Edward River Campground. Here we were incredibly lucky to experience a corroboree from the Wunambul people, such a special experience ❤️💛🖤

Finally, we camped on the Gibb River Crossing and enjoyed a relaxing afternoon with some drinks and nibbles after some very very bumpy driving and a few action packed days!
