As November flies by once again, and December is almost upon us, it’s time to make sure not to miss all the wonderful events leading up to Christmas. Starting with the Annual Christmas Market at the Waterwheel. This year it will be held on Friday, 6 December 4.00pm - 8.00pm. You will find wonderful gifts from local artists and craftspeople. Along with moody skies, enjoy toasty fires and smoky feasts accompanied by wonderful wines of the Yarra Valley and look forward to great culinary experiences. Warburton Film Festival 2024
The weekend that every film lover looks forward to is coming up very shortly. The 39th Annual Warburton Film Festival will be held on the weekend of 14-16 June.
Eight films will be featured from countries as diverse as Australia, Belgium, UK, Italy, France and Bhutan. These films offer a balance of genres, including drama, comedy and suspense. Opening night documentary is The Last Daughter and the director and subject of the film, Brenda Matthews will be in attendance. Don’t miss the best of the Show Us Your Shorts competition which will be screened before feature films. https://www.warburtonfilmfestival.com.au/

April brings two wonderful music events to Warburton. On Wednesday, 3 April is the River Folk Sessions (https://www.theriverfolkfestival.com/sessions) featuring a program spanning the globe. From Australia and Canada is duo Shark and Fox (Emily-Rose Sarkova and Jaron Freeman-Fox) embarking on their first Australian tour. Their music is influenced by their travels through Europe and the Appalachians. Also on the bill is Guanaco Trio, from Argentina. The trio is formed by Laura Urteaga on violin, Benjamin Aedo on guitar and Owen Salome playing bandoneon. Their performance will feature their original compositions and interpretations of both traditional and contemporary Argentine folkloric music.

On Friday, 5 April ECOSS is presenting an evening of chamber/folk music: Where Water Meets. (https://events.humanitix.com/where-water-meets-wesburn) The trio’s composing team of Emily Sheppard (violin/viola/vox) and Yyan Ng (guitar, shakuhachi and vox) will present an evening of music inspired by some of Tasmania’s most beautiful and untouched places.
