ated right at the foot of the famous 199 Steps leading up to St. Mary’s Church and the magnificent jewel that is Whitby Abbey, a site that has been inspiring visitors, artists and writers for over 1500 years and probably most famously as featured in Bram Stoker’s Gothic Horror novel Dracula with the black dog escaping up the steps from the shipwrecked Demeter on Tate Hill Sands. Ideally located for exploring Whitby’s historic east side, Kiln Cottage is situated in Kiln Yard, one of Whitby’s famous yards off Church Street and close to the Market Place and it’s thriving restaurants, pubs, cafes and shopping experience, as well as Tate Hill Sands and Fortune’s Famous Kipper Shop on Henrietta Street. Open the gate and walk through the arch into a very quiet secluded oasis that is Kiln Yard, and away from the hustle and bustle of old Whitby’s ancient cobbled Church Street to the stunning Kiln Cottage. Kiln Cottage Whitby is a delightful Grade II listed building and was originally separate two cottages dating back to 17th century, but today this truly is old meets new with modern contemporary self catering accommodation throughout for 4 people...and we are dog friendly too! (Please note Kiln Cottage Whitby is not suitable for families with infants or toddlers)
This kind gesture from our departing Guests really makes our efforts all worthwhile, and many thanks to Gillian and Ian for this review, it is much appreciated and we hope to welcome you back very soon to Kiln Cottage Whitby!

Good evening folks, I hope this post finds you all in fine fettle.
Folks, like lots of other holiday accommodation owners in Whitby we regularly get questions about where to park, particularly in peak season and festival times.
Below is a link provided by North Yorkshire Council of the car park directory for Whitby. I hope this is useful!

We are truly blessed in this vibrant little town of Whitby with the amount of festivals, events and fairs we celebrate every year.
Last weekend saw the famous Whitby Regatta, and the start of the fabulous Folk Week too.
This wonderful photo of the Whitby Regatta fireworks was taken and sent to Whitby Gazette by Andrea Rose.
The link below captures more of these wonderful images as part of the article in Scarborough News.

It is a bit of an overcast day in beautiful Whitby, but this email received from recent guests has really brightened our day!
Many thanks Anthony and Helen for taking time out to write and send this fabulous review, it is much appreciated!
Recent stay at kiln cottage
We recently rented the cottage for a week at the end of July . We were extremely pleased with the cottage , it is absolutely lovely , perfectly placed , spotlessly clean , beautifully decorated and furnished .
The owners obviously take great pride in it and are so thoughtful with a lovely welcome basket awaiting us .
It has all modern amenities (washer, dishwasher, microwave) a modern stylish bathroom and is really well appointed.
We have stayed in Whitby a lot in the past and a lot of places have been quite noisy with tourists and especially seagulls but Kiln Cottage was lovely and quiet and relaxing , so much so we already booked for next year before we’d even left !
Thank you for a lovely relaxing break .
Anthony and Helen

So, here is the thing, after much false starts, finally a new beginning...pleased to announce our purchase of a new c1750 holiday cottage!
It will be rebranded from it's old moniker and renamed after one of the slayers of Dracula, and my wee boy and best friend on 4 legs Quincey P. Morris Dolan, Quincey Cottage Whitby.
It is in a very good condition but needs a little TLC and new furnishings and should be available from mid/late September.
Sleeps 4, 2 beds and pet friendly, I hope you will support my new venture as you have with Kiln Cottage Whitby, and like and share to your friends too!
On a personal note, Kiln Cottage Whitby is owned, serviced and cleaned by my husband and I alone, we put our heart and soul wanting to make it the most comfortable and finest of holiday experience for every single one our Guests, and their pets too!
Our Guest reviews mean everything to us as we take each one very personally, and they are really important to promoting our business too, they are the best advertising we can get, so thank you all!
