Our Story
Live the adventure that promises you a ride that no one else can. Experience the Stockton Beach sand dunes like never before, riding safely from bush to beach on a 400cc Kymco ‘All Terrain’ Quad Bike. Your 1 hour adventure begins at the Murrook Complex where you fill out your paperwork & you drive yourself to our staging site, the beginning of the tour and where you will learn the basics of quad bike riding, including safe ATV handling and riding techniques. From there you will be taken for an unforgettable journey through bushland as your Aboriginal guide will give you an insight into traditional Aboriginal food, culture and history. Once through the bush you come out on top of the largest ‘moving’ sand dune system in the Southern Hemisphere where some dunes can reach up to 50metres high. Immerse yourself in a coastal wilderness like none other. Experience the Stockton Beach that holds secrets to Aboriginal Culture, WWII and the wreck of the Norwegian bulk carrier the ‘Sygna’. During the tour we place a strong emphasis on interpretive tours of the Stockton Sand Dunes and beach. We pride ourselves on providing you with a full appreciation of the area with its rich cultural and historical heritage. We actually own and control the highest coastal sand dunes in the southern hemisphere and they are not open to the public. The only way to see them is through us. This way we can control the Environmental impacts and protection of our Aboriginal heritage. The public and all other tours must use the designated off road areas, low dunes and plenty of people! Quad Bike Tours Tours depart daily from the Murrook Aboriginal Culture Centre ‘or’ onsite at Lavis Lane during weekends and holiday periods only. All customers are provided with a safety briefing and introduction to the quad bike prior to heading out on the dunes with the Worimi guides. Prices Include: 1 Hour Tour $110 Experience it all. Visit an Aboriginal midden site. Learn about the Aboriginal and European history of Stockton bight. Climb 40 – 100 foot high dunes on your quad bike and ride down the other side. We provide one Guide per 5 people so most groups have two guides, one out the front leading you around and one as a tail end Charlie to make sure no one gets left behind. You leave our staging area and ride over our maintained tracks through coastal grassland and scrub to get to the dunes. The guide will then take you over more and more challenging sand dunes, up and down. The only thing you will be dissapointed about is that time always seems too short when you are having fun.
