Spring is coming 💚 and this is minutes away from us 🌊

Winter is making way for spring, and it's such a delight to feel the warmth in the air, to see wildflowers blossoming and the vivid turquoise of the water when the sunlight hits ☀️🌼

📸 Hugging the Coast is at Castle Rock, near Dunsborough on Geographe Bay.

This stretch of coast is popular with whale watchers as the magnificent, massive mammals swim close to shore, often visible from land and protected in the relatively calm bays.

Fancy catching the annual migration? Spring is like peak hour on the whale superhighway, with around 300 blue whales, 300 southern rights and a whopping 35,000 humpback whales calling past on their way from the Kimberley region back to Antarctic waters.

Join a whale watching charter tour or take a coastal hike for a thrilling glimpse at these majestic animals 💙🐋

5 mins from us, this force of nature. A must see on your visit south. Our kids love climbing the amazing rocks, finding series of caves and making houses. This place awakens the child in us all. 💚

Did you know that the granite formations at Canal Rocks are somewhere between 300 and 600 million years old, and the Leeuwin-Naturaliste ridge was once an island! The region has been through ice ages, shifting sands and even a break away from India. 🌎

Sunday well spent at Yallingup Beach, in the northern reaches of the Margaret River Region 🏖️

We never get tired of exploring all there is to offer along Caves Rd. Come stay and explore!

​Caves Road is your route through the heart of the Margaret River Region and its biggest drawcards. From 5-star wineries (the most out of any wine region in Aus) to 5-star restaurants, art galleries, hobby farms, towering karri forests and caves, this scenic drive will delight the entire family if you're needing to please a crowd. 👨‍👩‍👦‍👦

​Starting in Yallingup (as captured here by 📸 .stories via IG) and winding its way through the rolling greenery of the Leeuwin-Naturaliste Ridge all the way to Hamelin Bay the drive takes around an hour to complete, although with the amount of entertainment and indulgence on offer along the way it's pretty much always a full day affair 😄

That's what I'm talking about 🙌🤩

It's official: Margaret River is now home to more 5-star wineries than any other region in Australia 🤩🍷 It was an amazing result for a relatively small wine region, taking out nearly all the significant awards at the 2023 Halliday Wine Companion Awards last week.

Congratulations to all the winners but particularly Glenn Goodall from Xanadu Wines and La Kooki Wines winning the coveted Winemaker of the Year. Deep Woods Estate was named Best Value Winery, while L_A_S VINO took Dark Horse Winery honours. Stella Bella Wines was awarded Chardonnay of the Year and Flowstone Wines won Sauvignon Blanc of the Year.

Sounds like it's time to crack a bottle to celebrate! 🍷🍇

​One of our favourite local tour companies 📷 Cape to Cape Explorer Tours is particularly excited because the Cape to Cape Track was recently voted by global news group CNN in the top 23 multi-day hikes ON THE PLANET.
