we happened to be at ftb and arrived at 10.30 am - by that time most of the pilot whales had been taken back out- my last time was in 86 in Augusta - it was not the same. We lost almost all - we still don’t know why it happens
update was the aprox 130
pilot whales taken back out to sea did not rebeach and headed out to sea
Updated
3pm whales are still in the ocean and headed north 🐠
12.45pm
While some whales have sadly lost their lives today we need to focus on those who have so far survived.
A huge community effort of locals rallying are what saved these magnificent creatures.
The majority of the pilot whales were escorted back to the ocean.
There were baby whales trying to help and defend their mums as we helped get them back into the water, it was a heart breaking scene for many of us.
Thankyou to everyone involved this morning you are all hero's.
Thankyou to the beautiful local vets on scene assessing so we could determine where to best focus our efforts.
Let us all pray they don't re-strand ❤️
Let us also be aware that dead whales will attract shark attention, be safe in the water over the next few days.
Be kind to each other on social media and remember we are all just volunteers.
10am - We are in attendance along with dbca, rangers and everyone who needs to be.
We will ask for help as and when needed. Thankyou please stay away

Who's joining us for 'Sunday Sounds' at the cellar door by Skigh Wine this Sunday?
Surrounded by peppermint trees and velvety green lawns, you’re invited to sip, swirl, and savour Skigh wine as the sounds of the South West close off your weekend. Bring a blanket, some lunch, your furry friends, and you’re all set.
The first instalment of Sunday Sounds features Turin Robinson. The swagger Turin has on stage is infectious. Having mastered his own unique sound-performing covers from the likes of Britney Spears and Taylor Swift, his voice will not only surprise you but leave you wanting more.

Over the last couple of years, we've had to deal with increasing number of people coming onto hillbrook farm and taking wood. we have just discovered a large number of jarrah cut down, and general destruction of habitat. This is very distressing. The abbey farm road area has been identified as an area of global ecological significance,
due to rare habitat-We have areas of old growth forest we have not touched since purchasing the property in 1978. We are very saddened by these actions and yes,we have reported it to the police and taking additional action

My father, a local Busselton GP, fell in love with Hillbrook Farm when driving from Busselton to surfing in Yallingup. He would drive along Abbeys Farm Road just to look at the property.
Encouraged by other Busselton Doctors in his practice, Kevin Cullen (Cullen Wines), Mike Peterkin (Pierro Wines) and Bill Pannell (Moss Wood & Picardy wineries), my parents purchased the property in 1978 - we had no farming experience at that time.
One of the most picturesque properties in the Yallingup escarpment, Hillbrook Farm totals 260 acres. Bounded by national park on two sides, Hillbrook Farm encompasses 100 acres of native woodland, rolling pastures, ocean views and predominately north facing slopes.
For The Birds Yallingup
In 1984, my parents commissioned a local architect to design our family home to be located at the highest point of Hillbrook Farm. The remit was to design a functional house that maximised the 360-degree views of ocean, valleys & national park. The plan included separate wings for parents and children, three spacious living areas, and views from every room.
Completed in in 1986, the house was named For The Birds, due to the abundant bird life surrounding it, the number of girlfriends my brother attracted, and ‘up in the air issues’ of an architecturally challenging roof. The house was permanently occupied by the family until 2013. At this time, my twin sister and I, Lisa and Joanna Boston, took over the ownership and management of the house and Hillbrook Farm.
Since 2013 For The Birds Yallingup has undergone extensive renovation to the house and garden. Upgraded with all 21stcentury amenities, For The Birds Yallingup is a second home to our families and the guests we host.
