☀️ That’s a wrap on pool season! 🏊‍♂️

A big thank you to everyone who made a splash at the York Swimming Pool this summer, locals, visitors, and day-trippers alike! From early morning laps to family fun days, it’s been a season to remember.

We marked the end of the season with a community breakfast on Friday morning (shoutout to Geoff the pool manager for being BBQ king! 👑🍳).

The pool closes for the season at 6.00pm today and will reopen in early November — just in time for another sunny season in York.

🚑 Throwback Thursday – York’s First Ambulance
York’s first ambulance was a vital addition to the town’s emergency services. Before the St John Ambulance premises were ready, it was kept at Noonan’s Garage, serving the community from there.
It’s amazing to look back at how far emergency services have come! Does anyone remember this or have stories about early ambulance services in York?

🏛️ Throwback Thursday – Sargent’s Pharmacy
This historic building, Sargent’s Pharmacy, was built in 1904 and has seen many changes over the years. While the verandah posts have been replaced since this photo was taken, the building itself remains a well-known part of York’s streetscape.
Over time, the business changed hands—from E. Stacey to Barbara Bennett—before becoming the Anglican Old Pharmacy Bookshop and later a gift shop. Today, it is privately owned, but its rich history lives on.
Who remembers visiting this building in its earlier days? Share your memories in the comments!

Throwback Thursday: York’s Visitor Centre Before the Town Hall!
York’s Visitor Centre hasn’t always been in the Town Hall—before that, it was located at 105 Avon Terrace!
📸 This black-and-white photo shows the former Tourist Bureau, with its open doorway and classic signage welcoming visitors to town.
🧐 Do you remember when it moved to the Town Hall? Or was it ever in any other locations before that? Let us know in the comments!

York, located on Ballardong Noongar Land is full of rich history, adventure, food, and quaint accommodation.

Come #experienceyork with us.
