Explore the beautifully preserved historic house, originally built during the 1850s as the Depot Superintendent's Quarters, and now the last remaining part of York's Convict Depot. 🏠

It’s time for an Agriculture update!

It's been a busy few months on the farming scene, with deep ripping, burning, spreading, and spraying keeping our farmers on their toes. And now, after a seven-month dry spell, the farmers have some relief with the first winter rains falling and seeding has begun. 🌧️🌱

As you drive around our country roads, you'll likely see different agricultural machinery out in the paddocks, preparing for this year’s crops. From seeders to sprayers and spreaders, our farmers are hard at work. Please stay vigilant while driving, and don’t forget to give a country wave! 👋

A big thank you to our farmers for their dedication and hard work in growing our food! 🚜🌾

With Mother’s Day approaching this Sunday, there are plenty of opportunities to spoil Mum with a gift, experience, or delicious meal this weekend in York. Here’s what's on:

Saturday:
🎁 Perfect spot for gift shopping at the Peace Park Markets from 8am-12pm. If your Mum loves gardening, make sure you check out the WA Native Plant Sale, put on by the Wildflower Society of WA (York Branch).

🏹 Keen to take Mum on a new experience? How about trying out Field Archery? Beginner lessons with equipment hire are available from 9am-12pm at 314 Talbot Hall Road, Talbot.

💐 What about making her a crochet coaster? Head to the Flour Mill Emporium from 9:30am-12:30pm to join in the free coaster-making workshop. They also have live music playing from 10am-12pm.

Sunday:
🍽️ Spoil your Mum with a meal at one of York's many eating establishments. Settlers House is putting on a Mother's Day Lunch and Dinner. The package includes live entertainment from 12pm, a 2-course meal, and a free standard drink for Mum.

☕ The Flour Mill Cafe York is celebrating Mums with a Mother's Day Morning Tea for 2. Enjoy a delectable array of sweet and savoury treats with tea or coffee for $35 per person. Dine-in or Takeaway. Pre-orders essential.

On the second Saturday of every month, market stalls pop up in the green space between South Street and Joaquina Street, brimming with all things old, new, handcrafted, and thrifted. There's something for everyone, and it’s a great opportunity to support local small businesses. 🛍️🌿

🎨 Exciting Announcement for Heritage Weekend! 🏛️

Discover the charm of York, the oldest inland town of WA, during Heritage Weekend! This event offers a delightful array of displays, tours, talks, and all things heritage to keep you entertained.

We're thrilled to share that the museum has recently received a wonderful donation: a collection of original artworks by the esteemed Adelphe King.

Adelphe, a beloved member of our community, dedicated her time to promoting York's natural beauty, rich with history and charm. Many of you may be eager to view her artworks.

As part of Heritage Weekend, a selection of Adelphe's artworks will be showcased at the Pantechnica Gallery on Avon Terrace from April 26th to 28th. The exhibition is called York in Pictures and the gallery is open Friday to Sunday from 9am-5pm. Afterward, they will return to the Museum for ongoing viewing.

Local residents, remember that you enjoy free entry to the museum. Don't miss this opportunity to explore the beauty of Adelphe's creations during Heritage Weekend and beyond! 🌟🖼️

On Saturday, rev up your engines for the York Motorcycle Festival Launch Party from 5pm-9pm at Avon Park. Here you will find food trucks, market stalls, kids entertainment, fire show, roaming artists, and a licensed area.
