Welcome Jean and Teresa.

We are very excited to welcome the new owner Jean, and her sister Teresa.
Jean purchased Lavendale County Retreat just last week and is settling in nicely. Together with her sister Teresa and brother-in-law John we know the farm is in excellent hands. ANIMALS ARE COMING BACK, and Jean will continue to welcome all our wonderful craft groups.

The river is flowing
And the paddocks are turning green. It would appear that Easter heralded the break in the season. Come and explore the Avon River and relax in nature.

Stargazing at Lavendale Country Retreat.

The clear night skies of the Avon Valley provide some incredible stargazing
opportunities.
The Avon Valley region is far enough from the bright city lights but close
enough for an easy 2 night weekender (or midweek for that matter).
By day, wander among nature on one of the region’s many walking trails,
discover historic architecture, feast on local produce (jams, olives, chocolate
and honey, to name a few), meet the locals and immerse yourself in authentic
country charm. Then, once the sun sets, look up to the sky and see the stars
twinkle into view as darkness falls over the valley.

Rate Reduction!
We understand that many individuals and families are doing it tough with rate hikes and the general rise in living expenses. We have decided to abandon the rate rises we activated late last year. Our accommodation rates will now revert to what they were previously, about 10% less.

Blue Fairy Wren, sunset through the trees and our old ram Irresponsible running through the sandalwood to say hello. All of this whilst enjoying a quiet beer on the patio of one of our 1 bedroom cottages.

Moving forward.

The photo is of us in August this year. Happy smiley faces. Mostly it has been a very good year, but somewhat exhausting. Hence the sale of all animals and change of focus away from Farmstay toward adult retreats. Merv had a medical setback in October which will take a while to get over. However, we have appointed a Guest Services Manager, so we now have someone to look after our guests. We have therefore re-opened our on-line bookings. Individual cottage bookings are welcome, but remember we are no longer a farmstay. There are no animals on site. For group bookings it is still best to phone or email. Availability will open up over time, so please keep checking or give us a call. I am still happy to take your calls and help with bookings.

Taking a break.
Due to ill health we are taking a break during December. All November bookings will be honoured.
When we reopen, we will only be taking adult groups of 2 or more cottages. All existing bookings will still be honoured. Please ring direct because we have taken down our on-line bookings.

2 lambs to bottle feed.

I had to sneak up to the window and take this photo on zoom in so probably not the best effort. But could not resist showing you. 1 lamb on day 1 and 1 on day 7. The large cat box has come in very handy.
