York Cottages consists of two cottages and our restored Burnley House. The two cottages are superbly appointed and fully self-contained. They are perfect for a country getaway and are ideal for couples and families alike. Each cottage consists of 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom (all with claw-foot baths), lounge and dining area. They all have a fridge, freezer, microwave, oven, cooktop, kettle, toaster, re

verse cycle air-conditioning, log fire, BBQ, TV/ DVDCD player). Burnley house is luxuriously appointed and fully self-contained. The house consists of four bedrooms, three bathrooms, kitchen, dining, lounge, TV room all beautifully surrounded by large open verandahs. The house has a fridge/ freezer, microwave, oven, cooktop, kettle, toaster, coffee machine, reverse cycle air conditioning, log fire, and large smart TV. Burnley also offers a private outdoor pool, fire pit, and BBQ

Guest facilities for both the cottages and Burnley house include a floodlit tennis court, a games room with a table tennis table, with seating to relax and enjoy the surroundings. There is also a range of friendly farm animals to interact with including Katie the kangaroo, alpacas, chickens and ducks.

Exciting news! York has taken centre stage in the award-nominated short film Don't Talk About the Monster on the Roof! 🎥

Filmed right here in our historic town as part of Curtin University’s Screen Arts course, the film captures York’s stunning heritage streetscapes and eerie atmosphere in a gripping road trip story. It’s already making waves, receiving five nominations at the WA Made Film Festival, including Best Film, Best Director, and Best Cinematography.

York continues to be a top choice for filmmakers, and we love seeing our town showcased on screen! 🌟

Western Australia's oldest car is a 1901 Benz, which was first used in Perth in 1903. The car was owned by William De Lisle, a resident of Avon Valley.

How it was discovered:
The car was discovered in a Welshpool storage warehouse and moved to the York Motor Museum.
The car was the subject of an exhibition at the Museum of Perth.
What it's like:
The car has a single cylinder rear-mounted engine and solid wheels with wooden spokes.
It was imported to Western Australia before cars were common.
What happened to it:
The car was driven by De Lisle through Perth, which earned him notoriety with the police and media.
He was fined more than £7 for driving the car at 18 miles per hour on the Victoria Park Causeway.
Where it's on display:
The car is on display at the York Motor Museum.

Today we celebrate the 5 year anniversary of us taking over the reigns of York Cottages.
And what a ride it has been. We love the place. So much has changed and more is on the way.
But tonight we will enjoy a champagne or two and talk about what we're going to do this year.
